Suhaimi Design's Project Manager, Mr. Malik Jafaar, conducted a "Lessons Learned" session for the supervision team, held both in-house and online.

The session focused on key challenges encountered during recent project management and supervision activities, providing valuable insights aimed at enhancing future project delivery efficiency and engineering workflows. Discussions emphasized practical lessons derived from real project experiences, reinforcing the importance of proactive coordination, technical accuracy, and effective construction management.

A major topic addressed during the session was the cascading impact of design revisions, particularly those related to Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structural systems. Modifications to the primary structural design required subsequent redesign of external footings and pedestals, resulting in disruptions to the overall master project schedule. The project also experienced hand-over delays due to additional external factors, including slow material submittal approvals and insufficient contractor manpower allocation during critical construction stages.

To improve future project ex*****on, the session highlighted the importance of achieving complete alignment with client and end-user requirements during the early planning and design phases. Establishing fully coordinated and finalized upfront design packages at the outset helps minimize ambiguities, reduce construction-stage variations, and protect both project timelines and budgets from unnecessary delays and rework.

The discussion also emphasized that while contractor prequalification and competitive commercial sourcing remain essential components of procurement strategy, successful project ex*****on ultimately depends on engaging partners capable of balancing competitive value with the necessary technical resources, equipment capacity, and skilled manpower required to achieve high-quality, on-schedule delivery.

The session reflects Suhaimi Design Company’s ongoing commitment to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and strengthening project management best practices across its supervision and engineering teams.

We are pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of a Masjid in Nepal, located near Nepalganj, approximately 350 km from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Nepalganj, a sub-metropolitan city in Banke District on the Terai plains, lies close to the southern border with Bahraich District in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The Masjid stands on a 504 m2 lot area with a built-up area of 150 m2 across two floors. The ground floor consists of the main prayer hall, while the first floor is designed for multipurpose use, including Islamic learning classes. Additional facilities include: the imam’s residence, a shop, ablution areas, and site development works.

In terms of finishes, the prayer hall flooring is laid with white marble and black marble strips, neatly marking the rows for worshippers. Interior walls are cladded with ceramic tiles up to 1.2 m height, with the remaining surfaces completed in cement plaster and paint.

The structure is built using load-bearing brickwork, with elevations designed in red brick finishes, reflecting Nepal’s rich cultural diversity and traditional architecture. Pyramid-shaped roofs with clay roof tiles further enhance the building’s architectural harmony with local traditions. The minaret also has red brick finishes similar to elevation of the building.

Natural light and ventilation are ensured through windows on all sides except the west wall of the prayer hall, supplemented by fluorescent tube lighting as required. External site development includes curbstone paving and concrete screed finishes, while an elevated water tank with a deep well and pumps ensures reliable water supply for ablution, toilets, and the imam’s residence uses.

This Masjid stands as a symbol of purity and community spirit, reflecting the essence of Islam, where prayers are established, hearts are connected, and the needs of the community are embraced.

On February 25, 2026, Arch. Bayani Rodriguez, Project Manager, conducted a "Lessons Learned" session for the supervision team at the Suhaimi Design Office.

The session focused on key challenges encountered during his recent project management and supervision activities.

Several critical issues were identified and discussed, including incomplete construction documents, significant design changes during the ex*****on phase, missing items in the BOQ, impractical project approaches, and extremely short construction timelines.

During the discussion, Arch. Bayani emphasized the importance of proactive planning, strict quality control, thorough inspection procedures, and clear coordination among all project stakeholders to mitigate such challenges in future projects.

The session provided valuable insights for Suhaimi Design’s supervision team, helping to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making processes, minimizing project variations, and support the timely delivery of future projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Suhaimi Design is pleased to announce that Arch. Muthaher Alhamad has successfully attended and has been certified as an Internal Auditor following the QMS (ISO 9001:2015) Awareness & Internal Auditor Training. The session, held at TSIC’s office and led by Eng. Ahmad Rajab, blended theory, workshops, and assessments to strengthen our quality culture and audit capabilities.

The Awareness segment covered the foundations of ISO 9001:2015, including key terms and definitions, the Seven Quality Management Principles, and the process approach with the PDCA cycle. Participants explored the full structure of the standard, clause by clause, and completed a short quiz to reinforce understanding of requirements and their practical application.

In the Internal Auditor segment, the team examined audit types and certification concepts, then moved into hands-on skills: preparing audit plans and checklists, practicing auditing techniques through workshops, and drafting Internal Audit Reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). The course also introduced tools such as the NCR log sheet and an Auditor Competency Matrix. A final exam concluded the program, confirming the mastery of material.

This certification enhances our internal audit capacity and ensures continued alignment with ISO 9001:2015, supporting consistent delivery, continual improvement, and client confidence across our projects.

Congratulations to Arch. Muthaher on this achievement, and our thanks to Eng. Ahmad Rajab and TSIC for an engaging and impactful training.
