Plans for the visit of international specialist doctors from India to the Solomon Islands have been revised following earlier delays caused by registration issues.
Organizers confirmed that the setback was due to challenges in securing official medical registration for the visiting doctors.
However, the issue has now been resolved, with temporary registration successfully obtained, allowing the medical team to proceed with their trip.
Flights have been booked, and the doctors are now scheduled to arrive and conduct consultations in Honiara from May 14 to May 16, 2026.
Senior cancer specialist Dr. Satyesh Nadella and senior heart specialist Dr. Avinash Pathuri will lead the medical consultations.
The team will be offering specialist consultations for a range of serious health conditions. Dr. Nadella will attend to patients with cancers such as brain, prostate, colon, lung, breast, cervical, and metastatic cancers.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pathuri will see patients experiencing heart-related symptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, and other cardiovascular concerns.
Consultations will take place at the Frontier Radiology Health Centre during the following schedule:
May 14, 2026: 2:00 PM β 6:00 PM
May 15, 2026: 9:00 AM β 6:00 PM
May 16, 2026: 9:00 AM β 11:00 AM
Members of the public are encouraged to book appointments in advance through the provided contact numbers to secure consultation slots.
Organizers have apologized for the change in plans and thanked the public for their patience and understanding, assuring that the upcoming visit will provide much-needed access to specialist medical care in the country.
