Effective in treating coronary artery disease, an angioplasty helps to restore healthy blood flow to the heart by opening narrowed or blocked arteries.

An angioplasty widens the obstructed arteries by gently threading a thin tube (catheter) with a small balloon and a stent through a blood vessel to reach the affected artery.
