Always busy, always rushing, known for being everywhere, not-stopping and straaaaight onto the next thing?

This post is a reminder and permission for you to pause.

If you need a place of calm and reflection to understand what's driving you (and what you may be avoiding)...well, we're here and ready to hear the 'thing'.

Relocating to a new country can be a very lonely journey. It might mean losing your support network, trying to understand and fit into a new culture, and possibly experiencing identity disruption as a trailing spouse.

There are many ways to start feeling more settled. You could reach out via online groups to find other expats. You could join clubs to start building your network. You could build a new routine such as a morning walk in your neighborhood followed by coffee at your local cafe. You could plan for something you are looking forward to such as a family trip.

If you find you are struggling with all of this, it's ok to reach out for help. Many of our clinicians are expats themselves and have supported others in finding their way here.

Therapy shouldn't feel out of reach because of cost.

That's why our counsellors-in-training offer supervised, client-centred sessions at $20 (excl. GST) for your first 10 sessions—same warmth, same care, guided every step by our senior clinicians.

One of the hardest patterns to notice is when “pushing through” becomes your normal.

You may still be functioning. You may still be showing up. You may even look “fine” to everyone else.

But if your sleep, mood, energy, concentration, or sense of hope has been affected for weeks or months, it may be more than just a rough patch.

Us Therapy was honoured to be part of the Sands Pride 2026: The Courage To Be event, which created space for open conversations around identity, belonging, resilience, psychological safety, and the courage it can take to live authentically.

Our Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Natasha Mitter, joined the panel discussion to share a mental health perspective on lived experiences, support, and healing. Our Counsellor, Vickie Liao, also took part in a short role play to gently show what a counselling session can look like, helping to make therapy feel more approachable and relatable.

At Us Therapy, we provide support across a wide range of mental health and wellbeing needs, including individual, couples, family, child and adolescent therapy, assessments, educational therapy, and clinical supervision.

We are grateful to have contributed to this space as allies, and to support conversations that encourage empathy, understanding, and care.

Thank you to Marina Bay Sands for having us, and to everyone who joined the conversation.

One of the biggest misconceptions about eating disorders is that they are always visible.

They are not.

When we focus too much on weight, we can miss people who are struggling but do not fit the stereotype of what an eating disorder is “supposed” to look like. That delay can make it harder for people to get support early.

The absence of visible weight loss does not mean the absence of distress.
