100,000 people in Japan are now 100 years old or older. 👵🏻👴🏻

Think about that for a moment.

Japan now has 107,677 centenarians — the first time the number has crossed 100,000. At the same time, around 30% of its population is already aged 65 and above.

Living longer is something we celebrate. ❤️

But here's the question:

Are we planning for a longer life?

Singapore is ageing too. In 2025, 18.8% of our resident population was already aged 65 and above.

If we are living longer, we may also have more years to think about:
🏠 Where we want to live
❤️ Who will care for us
📋 What happens if we can no longer make decisions
💰 How our finances and assets are managed
🕊️ And eventually, how we want our final wishes to be carried out

Longevity changes more than just the number on our birthday cake.

It changes the way we should think about planning.

Perhaps the conversation isn't simply about “How long will I live?”

It's also:

“How do I want to live, and how can I make things easier for the people I love?”

A longer life deserves thoughtful planning too. 🤍

From the UK to Singapore — learning beyond the classroom. 🇬🇧🇸🇬

We were honoured to welcome nursing students from the UK on exchange to Nirvana, where they explored and gained a deeper understanding of bereavement care in Singapore. 🤍

For us, this is more than just a visit.

At Nirvana Joyful Life 613, we believe our role goes beyond selling. We believe in educating, creating awareness, and helping our community understand what happens before, during and after a loss.

Because bereavement care is not only about what happens after someone passes away — it’s about understanding people, emotions, cultures and families during one of life’s most difficult moments.

We don’t just serve families.
We educate, we share, and we grow together.

This is what being part of 613 means to us. 🙏🏻

We plan our holidays.
We plan our careers.
We plan our children’s future.
But have we ever planned for our own final chapter?

A recent CNA Lifestyle article shared 25 things we should consider before we die — from funeral wishes and important documents to passwords, finances, digital accounts and even the messages we want to leave behind.

And here's the uncomfortable question:

If something happened to you tomorrow, would your family know what to do?

Would they know your wishes?
Where your important documents are?
Who to contact?
What you would want for your final farewell?

We often avoid these conversations because they feel uncomfortable.

But perhaps planning isn't about preparing to die.
It's about making sure the people we love don't have to guess when we're gone. 🤍

Maybe you don't need to plan everything today.

Start with one conversation.
One decision.
One thing your family should know.

Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can leave behind isn't money.

It's clarity, peace of mind, and less burden for the people we love.

Does your family know your end-of-life wishes? Or where to find your will, passwords, bank accounts and subscriptions? Creating a death to-do list now can spare your loved ones unnecessary stress and uncertainty, whether your passing is expected or sudden.
