Can you actually remove your pores? 👀

The short answer: no — and that’s completely normal. Pores are natural openings for hair follicles and sebaceous glands.

However, excess oil, acne-prone skin, ageing, collagen loss and thicker hair follicles can make them appear more prominent (especially around the nose and central face).

The good news? Their appearance can be reduced with the right treatment approach.

🎥 Stay tuned for our next video where Dr. Koh Li-Wen explains the treatment options for enlarged pores and who they may be suitable for.

What we call “enlarged pores” is rarely caused by one factor.

🧬 Genetics helps set the baseline by influencing characteristics such as your natural follicle size. Oil production, congestion, acne-related changes, collagen loss and cumulative UV exposure can also make pores appear more prominent.

These influences may shift over time. Oiliness and congestion might play a greater role at one stage, while changes in skin firmness and texture can become more noticeable as the skin ages.

Ultimately, pores are a normal part of healthy skin. The goal isn’t to erase them, but to understand what may be emphasising their appearance — and improve how they look where possible.

What happens to the face during GLP-1 weight loss?

For some patients, rapid or significant weight loss can lead to hollowing around the temples and cheeks, deeper under-eye shadows, softer contours and looser-looking skin — changes often described online as Ozempic Face 😱

Because the face may continue evolving while weight loss is ongoing, timing matters. Treating too early may risk overcorrection, while waiting too long may make the changes more complex to address ⏳

In selected patients, Sculptra (or Poly-l-Lactic acid), may be considered as part of a staged approach after GLP-1 weight loss to gradually support collagen production and facial structure.

The goal is not to fill every hollow, but to restore facial support in a balanced, measured and natural-looking way.

Do you really need to follow the PLLA-SCA 5-5-5 massage rule? 🤔

If you've been researching Sculptra aftercare, you've probably come across the 5-5-5 rule or 5-5-5 massage recommendation — massaging the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.

While massage has traditionally been part of post-treatment care, published evidence over the past few years has broadened our understanding of what contributes to consistent outcomes.

Today's conversation isn't just about aftercare. it's also about treatment planning, product preparation, injection technique, and the many factors that come together throughout the treatment journey.

Swipe through to see what the current evidence says 📚✨

Technique matters 🎯 More than many people realise.

When people ask whether Sculptra is "safe" or "effective", the conversation shouldn't stop at the product itself.

Current international consensus highlights that outcomes depend on multiple technical factors working together, including appropriate product preparation, dilution, injection depth, treatment spacing, and post-treatment care where indicated.

This is particularly important for body treatments, where different anatomical areas often require different treatment approaches. The hands, buttocks, abdomen, upper arms, neck, and décolletage each have unique skin characteristics, tissue thickness, and treatment goals.

As our understanding of regenerative aesthetics continues to evolve, the emphasis has shifted beyond simply what is injected, to how it is performed.

Because in regenerative medicine, technique is often just as important as the product itself 💉

Many of the body changes we associate with aging are easy to see — but not always easy to interpret.

It's natural to assume that softer contours, looser skin or changes in firmness are simply the result of weight gain or excess body fat. In reality, the aging process affects multiple tissues simultaneously, including the skin, collagen, connective tissue, fat and underlying muscle.

This is why two people with similar-looking concerns may not always have the same underlying cause 🔍

Understanding what is actually changing beneath the surface is an important part of treatment planning. Rather than focusing only on what we can see, the goal is to identify why the change has occurred and choose an approach that addresses the underlying concern ✨

Interest in Sculptra® for the body has been growing — but what does the current clinical evidence actually tell us? 📚

As regenerative aesthetics continues to evolve, interest in PLLA-SCA has expanded beyond facial rejuvenation to areas such as the neck, décolletage, buttocks, thighs, abdomen, knees, hands, and upper arms.

While social media often focuses on treatment results 📱✨ published clinical studies provide another important perspective, helping us understand where the evidence currently stands, what has been studied, and what outcomes have been reported.

In this reel, Dr. Jonathan Lee reviews the current clinical evidence for PLLA-SCA across different body areas, including cellulite, skin laxity, crepey skin, treatment durability, and safety.

As with any treatment, evidence is only one part of the equation. Appropriate patient selection, sound clinical judgment, and meticulous injection technique remain equally important in achieving optimal outcomes.

When body skin starts looking crepey... it's not always just dryness.

Many people notice their body skin becoming thinner, finely wrinkled, or less firm over time and assume they simply need a better body lotion or moisturiser 🧴

While dryness can certainly make crepey skin appear more noticeable, it isn't always the whole story.

One of the natural changes that occurs with ageing is gradual collagen decline 🧬 As collagen levels decrease over time, the skin's supporting framework becomes less robust, contributing to changes in skin quality, firmness, elasticity, and resilience.

Understanding these age-related changes is an important part of healthy ageing. Rather than simply treating what is seen on the surface, understanding why skin changes can help you make more informed decisions about supporting healthier skin over time.

02/07/2026

We often think about ageing as something that happens on the face. But collagen loss doesn't stop there.

Over time, it can also affect areas such as the neck, décolletage, hands, arms, abdomen, buttocks and knees — where the skin may gradually appear less firm, more crepey, or lose some of its natural support.

These changes are a normal part of ageing, but they can become more noticeable as collagen production declines.

This is where regenerative collagen biostimulators such as Sculptra may be considered for suitable patients 💉✨

Rather than simply adding volume, Sculptra works by stimulating your body's own collagen production gradually, helping to improve skin quality, firmness and structural support over time.

The goal isn't to dramatically change the body, but it's to restore collagen where it has been lost, improve skin quality, and support natural-looking results that develop progressively over time 🌿

As our understanding of healthy aging, collagen biology, and regenerative aesthetics continues to evolve, more attention is being given to how the body ages too.

The neck. Décolletage. Upper arms. Abdomen. Buttocks. Hands. Knees.

These are all areas where collagen gradually declines over time, and where patients may begin noticing changes in skin quality, firmness, and structural support.

Because collagen loss isn't limited to the face, the conversation around collagen stimulation has also expanded beyond facial rejuvenation 🧬

This is where poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA), also known as Sculptra, is increasingly being considered in selected body areas as part of a regenerative approach to supporting collagen, skin quality, and healthy aging.
