Many families find Buddhist funeral rites simpler to understand and easier to follow. The focus is often on prayers, merit transfer, and giving the departed a peaceful farewell.

Taoist funerals, on the other hand, can involve more detailed rituals and traditions that vary between dialect groups and family practices. As younger generations become less familiar with these customs, some families feel more comfortable choosing a Buddhist service.

That said, neither is better than the other. The most important thing is honouring the beliefs, wishes, and values of the departed and their family.
