Today, Dr Koh delivered a keynote presentation at the 34th Singapore Pharmacy Congress, marking the 120th anniversary of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore. Titled 'More Than Itch, Advancing Atopic Dermatitis Care Through IL-31 Inhibition', Dr Koh's lecture centered on cutting-edge treatments for Atopic Dermatitis, specifically highlighting Nemolizumab, a pioneering IL-31 inhibitor that promises to rapidly and safely alleviate recalcitrant itch in patients with moderate to severe eczema. Hopefully, these advanced therapies will benefit more patients. 💊👏💕

Attending conferences is the best way to stay abreast of the latest developments in any field! Dr Koh Hong Yi was in Paris attending the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) 2025 conference, the largest European annual congress on all things related to dermatology. Topics range from the latest biologics and JAK inhibitors to treat eczema and psoriasis, use of AI in dermatology and, last but not least, the humanity and art of working with our patients to achieve better skin health.

Dr Koh Hong Yi will be live on radio CNA938 this Wednesday 30th October 2024 at 7.00pm with host Daniel Martin to talk about Psoriasis, in particular Generalized Pustular Psoriasis (GPP).

GPP is a rare condition, and there was no treatment specifically licensed to treat GPP until recently. If you are keen to find out more about GPP and the latest available therapies, do remember to tune in!

29th October 2024 is World Psoriasis Day. On 27th October, the Psoriasis Association of Singapore celebrated the event at Tampines Hub. Dr Koh Hong Yi gave a talk on Psoriasis in Mandarin. Our goal is increased awareness about Psoriasis and the many treatments now available. Many participants brought along their children, and it was a fun Sunday for everyone!😊

Dr Koh will touch on the basic science behind AD and PN therapies, and share real cases of how his patients had their lives turned around with these treatments.

On 19th October, Dr Koh Hong Yi was invited by DKSH and Fullerton Health to speak to its GP partners 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐜𝐳𝐞𝐦𝐚 and 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞.

Patients are increasingly aware and worried about the side effects of topical steroids, and topical steroid withdrawal syndrome. While topical steroids still has an important role in eczema treatment, doctors need to address patients' concerns and discuss non-steroidal options. Dr Koh touched on the use of non-steroidal treatments such as tacrolimus, pimecrolimus and crisaborole in the prevention of eczema flares using a 𝐏𝐫𝐨-𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡. Patients adopting this treatment experience less eczema flares and longer remissions between flares. These treatments have been shown to be safe even in very young children. Dr Koh also shared on latest findings where uncontrolled eczema in infancy may be a risk factor for 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 later on.

Dr Koh's next talk focused on 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 in Singapore. Non-melanoma skin cancer are amongst the 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟎 cancers in Singapore residents. Surgery, in particular 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 is the gold standard treatment for most skin cancers and offers better cure rates with smaller wounds. The doctor also needs to provide treatments for patients who are not keen for surgery, including cryotherapy and topical medications for low risk cancers.
