Once, there was a woman who lived in a house with too many rooms.
Some were noisy, some with towering paperwork and some filled with laughter. There was one quiet room she loved, but could hardly get in because there was always a queue outside. Another room was colder than she would like, with scratches on the wallpaper from old arguments and photographs gathering dust. Sometimes she missed the shouting, because at least it meant something was still alive. Yet she also hated the room where it was most chaotic, because she would struggle to keep the door shut when strong winds and thunderstorms kept pushing it open.
This is what goes on in a divorcing teacher's mind, every day.
What happens when that door bursts open mid-lesson?
The divorcing teacher lashes out at a student before she can stop herself. Hours, days and even months later, she continues to berate herself and questions her role as a teacher.
Clarity does not come from fixing, it comes from clearing (quite literally). You have probably heard that meditations are good for this. Why not try the 1-minute meditations I wrote, just for the divorcing teacher? They are guided, so you just have to plug in and follow the words. Lasting only about 1 minute each, they are very useful and easy to use during the school day.
It does not cost you anything, and you gain by being able to keep your cool better in front of everyone.
