Before you forward that “helpful” savings guide, pause for a moment.

A colourful “2026 Senior Savings Guide” was recently shared in my family WhatsApp group.

It looked polished, useful and trustworthy. But after checking the individual claims, several prices, age requirements and conditions were outdated, incomplete or unsupported.

This is how misleading information often spreads—not necessarily through bad intentions, but through caring people forwarding something that looks official.

A wrong discount may cause a wasted trip or confusion at the counter. More importantly, becoming accustomed to trusting forwarded graphics without checking can make anyone more vulnerable to suspicious promotions, impersonation messages and scams.

I have prepared a Singapore awareness guide explaining:

✓ Five warning signs to check
✓ How to verify a discount or entitlement
✓ Selected examples checked against official sources
✓ What families should do before forwarding information
✓ Where to check a suspicious message

Please share the full article rather than only the infographic, so the explanation and source links remain attached.

Share care, not confusion. Verify first, then share with confidence.

Falls are among the biggest fears as we age, and rightly so.
I appreciate how The Straits Times keeps this conversation practical and accessible. Balance, confidence, and simple daily movement matter more than we think.
Prevention doesn’t need to be complicated; it just needs to be consistent.

Ageing is not something that happens one day.
It is shaped quietly by how we live, move, and care for one another every day.
