Why does your shoulder feel “stuck”? 🩺

It might be frozen shoulder and it’s more than just tightness.

Here’s what’s actually happening: the capsule surrounding your shoulder joint becomes inflamed and painful. Over time, that inflammation leads to thickening of the capsule, which binds the joint and restricts your range of motion. That’s why reaching overhead, behind your back, or even sleeping on that side can become difficult.

The good news ? FROZEN shoulder can be treated. For cases that don’t respond to conservative care, keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery can release the tightened capsule and help restore movement.

If your shoulder has felt stiff, painful, or “locked” for a while, it’s worth getting it checked rather than waiting it out. 💬

What are joint mice — and are they dangerous? 🤔

Swipe through. It's one of the most searched knee questions in Singapore and most people have never heard of it.

Joint mice are loose bodies in the knee, tiny fragments of bone or cartilage floating freely inside the joint. When they get trapped between joint surfaces, your knee locks. When they float away, the pain disappears.

Episode 09 of Everyday Pain Explained covers:
👉 What joint mice actually are (and why the name fits perfectly)
👉 The 4 conditions that cause loose bodies in the knee
👉 What a locking knee really means — and when it becomes urgent
👉 The difference between monitoring and keyhole surgery

💾 Save this and share it with someone who keeps describing their knee as "locking up out of nowhere."

Frozen shoulder isn’t just “bad sleep”. it’s the pain and stiffness that’s been bothering you for MONTHS, not weeks. 🥶

Are you having these problems?
❄️ Can’t sleep on either side?
❄️ Struggling to reach behind your back?
❄️ Can’t put on a jacket or bra?

If this sounds like you, don’t wait for the pain to “go away on its own.” Seek medical attention or physiotherapy early the sooner it’s addressed, the easier it is to treat.

Did you know that not every ACL tear needs surgery? 🤔

Swipe through because most people get this completely wrong.

The pop, the swelling, the instability. An ACL tear is one of the most dramatic moments in sport. But what's actually happening inside your knee in that split second?

💾 Save this and share it with a training partner who's worried about their knee.

Is your pain something to live with or something to get checked? 🤔
Swipe through. I've broken it down as clearly as I can.

Two mistakes I see constantly: people ignoring pain that genuinely needs attention, and people panicking over pain that doesn't.

Episode 07 of Everyday Pain Explained gives you a plain English framework to tell the difference:
👉 Monitor vs see a doctor: a clear side by side breakdown
👉 The pain timeline that tells you exactly when to act
👉 Red flag combinations that mean go to A&E now
👉 The 3 rules that cover almost every situation

💾 Save this as your go-to pain reference and share it with someone who always second guesses whether their pain is "bad enough" to see a doctor.

Why do some people bounce back from injury in 3 months while others are still struggling at 9? 🤔

Swipe through — the answer will change how you approach your recovery.

Hint: age is not the main factor. Neither is the severity of the injury.

What actually matters is what you do between appointments.

Episode 06 of Everyday Pain Explained covers:
👉 6 science backed factors that predict recovery speed
👉 The biggest recovery myths people still believe
👉 Why lifestyle choices outweigh biology by a wide margin
👉 3 daily habits that consistently separate fast recoverers from slow ones

💾 Save this post and share it with someone currently in recovery who feels like they’re falling behind.

“100% guaranteed results, zero complications.”

No surgeon can honestly promise that.
Every procedure carries some risk. Any doctor who says otherwise isn’t confident, they’re a red flag.

That dull ache just below your kneecap after a workout? Don't ignore it. 🦵

Jumper's knee sneaks up on you. One week it's mild soreness after training. A few months later, you can't walk down stairs without wincing.

And here's the thing . You don't even need to be a jumper to get it. Runners, gym goers and anyone who suddenly ramps up their training are just as at risk.

In Episode 05 of Everyday Pain Explained, I break down:
✅ What jumper's knee actually is and what's happening inside your knee
✅ Why it happens — and who's most at risk
✅ The 4 severity grades — so you know exactly how serious yours is
✅ What actually speeds up recovery (complete rest is not the answer)

💾 Save this post — and share it with a training partner who keeps pushing through knee pain.

Why does your shoulder only hurt at a specific angle when you lift your arm? 🤔

Swipe through — there's a really satisfying answer to this one.

Spoiler: your shoulder has a narrow space that tendons and fluid sacs pass through every time you raise your arm. When anything inside gets inflamed or damaged, they get pinched right in that zone.

Episode 04 of Everyday Pain Explained covers:
👉 The "painful arc" — why 60 to 120 degrees is the danger zone
👉 3 conditions that cause overhead pain (they need different fixes)
👉 The red flag that points to a rotator cuff tear
👉 4 self care tips that actually make a difference

💾 Save this and share it with someone who keeps saying their shoulder "acts up" when they reach up.
