DR TAN CHENG BOCK'S VISIT TO NERVE-PHYSIO CLINIQUE:
We are glad when Dr Tan Cheng Bock dropped by at NERVE-PHYSIO CLINIQUE yesterday for a surprise visit, together with Wang Swee Chuang and Francis Yuen, and joined by Harold Woo and Henner Tan.
As his 86th birthday is on this coming Sunday, 26th April, we had a small pre-celebration with a Fresh-Fruit Vanilla Cake to thank God for blessings him with a good heart & conscience as a doctor, and as a politician who has the unique distinction in serving both sides of the political divide, for the betterment of our country.
Was pleasantly delighted to see that Doc is still passionate about the well-being and health of some of his former patients, despite having retired from his medical practice, especially for Stroke patients with "drop-foot" condition, which is not easy to treat for full recovery.
Managed to explain the concept of Nerve-Decompression Therapy Treatments used to treat Stroke patients and was able to demonstrate to him on how the brain can be manipulated to recover the motor-functions of the hands.
Going Forward:
It is a well known fact that Singapore has lost its competitive edge in Medical Tourism over the past years, and as such, our healthcare institutions in both the public and private sectors must start innovating much harder if we want to regain our competitive edge in the future of Healthcare, which lies in the development of Integrative Medical Healthcare.
In this aspect, we hope that NERVE-PHYSIO CLINIQUE can continue to play our part by strategically developing more effective Recovery Treatments for our patients.
That is why we are delighted to hear from Doc that he has some very good experiences in learning first hand, the various Alternative Treatments from the Taiwanese & Chinese when he was in the service of the government.
We hope to follow up with Doc on these "missed opportunities" so that we can formulate better Recovery Treatments for our patients.
I guess that when doctors, who are like Doc, who are truly dedicated to the recovery of their patients, they will not rest or be contented with keeping to "status quo" as long as their patients are still in pain, struggling with their unresolved medical conditions or be told that their case is hopeless, but will take on the burden to search for better or alternative treatments that works or provide some relief or comfort for their patients.
Now that Doc has retired from politics, I hope that he will stay socially active and use his wealth of medical experience to encourage and help more elderly Singaporeans live a better quality of life.
Have a blessed 86th Birthday Doc, God bless...
