Caregiving doesn’t end with physical care. It also means showing up through moments of stress and difficult conversations
This was the focus of our conversation at CIMB INSUREXPO 2026, where our Head of Singapore Red Cross Academy’s Centre for Psychosocial Resilience & Humanitarian Studies, Ms Durga Naidu, spoke on “Caring Beyond the Physical: Psychological First Aid (PFA) for Seniors & Caregivers.”
The session explored how Psychological First Aid can equip caregivers with practical ways to recognise distress, respond supportively and build resilience within families and communities.
As caregiving needs evolve, emotional support is becoming just as important as physical care. Knowing how to recognise distress and help someone feel heard can make a meaningful difference.
Because caring for someone is not only about knowing what to do physically — it is also about knowing how to respond emotionally.
Thank you to CIMB and INSUREXPO for the opportunity to continue this important conversation.
