šŸŽØ I started a little side project which took me 6 weeks to complete - mindful painting , turning brushstrokes into deep breaths. Here is what happens psychologically when you paint mindfully: 🧠 Pauses Overthinking: It deactivates the brain’s ā€œDefault Mode Networkā€ā€”the area responsible for mind-wandering, worrying, and negative thoughts.🌊 Unlocks Flow State: Your brain waves shift into calmer patterns, mimicking the exact state of deep meditation.🌿 Calms the Body: physically lowering your heart rate and stress levels.✨ Boosts Mood: Seeing the colors blend gives your brain immediate visual feedback, releasing a natural hit of dopamine. I’m no artist. This is a paint by numbers template. But I thoroughly enjoyed the process and I’m super happy with the outcome ! If your mind has been feeling a bit cluttered lately, or you’ve been feeling stressed , this could be something that you might consider trying ā˜ŗļø (swipe āž”ļø to see the progress) sometimes we all need to slow down and just take a break.

For SPS and SRP members only: Psychologist Support Group – Limited Places Available

Psychologists are often the ones holding space for others, yet meaningful opportunities to reflect, connect, and be supported alongside peers can be surprisingly rare.

I’m pleased to be offering a facilitated support group for psychologists who are interested in deepening their professional practice while engaging in thoughtful dialogue with colleagues. This will be a space for reflection, consultation, shared learning, and honest conversations about the realities of our work.

Beyond peer support, the group also offers a unique opportunity to experience group work from within. Participants will gain firsthand insight into the therapeutic factors, interpersonal dynamics, and transformative potential of groups—learning that can enrich both clinical understanding and professional practice.

The group is intentionally designed to foster psychological safety, meaningful engagement, and professional growth. Whether you are early in your career or an experienced practitioner, your presence and perspective will contribute to the richness of the experience.

There will be 3 independent sessions from July to September. Places are limited to support a high-quality group experience. The first session is fully subscribed. Please keep a lookout for our email for the next session in August.

Grateful and humbled to share that I’m now part of the Singapore crisis response team. It’s a role that fills me with quiet pride for the chance to serve, protect, and stand alongside others in moments that truly matter.

We’re living in a fragile world—where uncertainty, conflict, and change remind us how delicate life can be. In the face of that, kindness, unity, and compassion are more important than ever.

Let’s look out for one another, choose peace whenever we can, and do our part—no matter how small—to care for this earth we all call home.

I know 3 posts on Mount Fuji šŸ—» is a little excessive but I can’t help it. There’s a magic about Fuji-san and I’m so thankful we got to see this majestic beauty. Fuji has a reputation for being elusive because it’s frequently obscured by clouds, making it challenging to see in its full splendor. Many tourist make a day trip to Mount Fuji only to be disappointed by bad weather. This Japan trip was a request by my dad as he really wanted to see Mount Fuji. And I was determined to make his wish come true. Being very kiasu, my travel itinerary was to stay around Mount Fuji for 5 full days. Thankfully ,worrying is not always a bad thing. True enough, 3 out of 5 days were raining and cloudy and Mount Fuji was not visible. We were very fortunate to have 2 days of beautiful sunny and clear skies, exposing Fuji’s iconic peak in its full glory. It was lovely to see my dad so happy.
