We had a wonderful opportunity to showcase our CareAbilities Programme (CAP), Educator Aide Training (ECAT), and AT@Work programmes at ITE West on 18 September.

Through engaging activities, interactive demonstrations, and meaningful conversations, students and caregivers gained valuable insights into the learning and career development pathways available.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our booths and to our dedicated team members for making the event a success. We look forward to empowering more individuals on their journey towards lifelong learning and employment readiness!

On 3 September, we welcomed 14 parents to our Caregivers' Talk, where they gained valuable insights into supporting their children's journey towards greater workplace independence. Through meaningful discussions, caregivers explored ways to build confidence, encourage self-advocacy, and create consistency between home and workplace environments

We also kicked off the CAP Intake 2 Orientation, featuring an inspiring sharing session by our Intake 1 interns, who -shared their experiences, challenges, achievements, and personal growth throughout the programme. Their stories offered encouragement and valuable perspectives for the incoming cohort.
The day was made even more memorable through fun adaptive games and interactions that helped participants build new friendships and experience the welcoming spirit of the CAP community.

As our CAP trainees begin this new chapter, the support of caregivers remains key to helping them build confidence, develop independence, and take meaningful steps towards employment success and fulfilling adult lives.

Interested to learn more about the CAP. Visit our website at https://pcs.org.sg/.../train.../careabilities-programme-cap/ to find out how we support youths in building workplace readiness and greater independence.

An afternoon filled with connection, joy, and inclusive play! Earlier this month, our CareAbilities Programme 1 interns visited MWS Christalite Methodist Home โ€” a home for destitute elderly residents, whose identities we keep private โ€” for a meaningful session with residents through adaptive sports and interactive games.

From cheerful smiles to friendly competition, residents took part enthusiastically and enjoyed the activities together. Beyond the games, the session also created opportunities for warm conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful interactions.

Moments like these remind us that simple acts of engagement can build bridges, nurture friendships, and strengthen a caring, inclusive community.

A heartfelt thank you to MWS Christalite Methodist Home for hosting our interns and giving them the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful afternoon.

๐ŸŒŸ CareAbilities Internsโ€™ Work Exposure Week ๐ŸŒŸ

Our CareAbilities (CAP) interns were excited to kick off their Work Exposure Week through a meaningful collaboration with Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) Eunos Senior Care Centre! ๐Ÿ’™

During the week, our interns gained valuable hands-on exposure to community care by learning about the roles involved in supporting seniors, exploring the use of walking frames, and interacting with seniors and the MWS team.

We are deeply grateful to the dedicated staff at MWS Eunos Senior Care Centre for warmly welcoming our interns and creating an enriching environment for them to learn, contribute and grow. ๐Ÿค

As a token of appreciation, our interns presented heartfelt messages and a personal card to their MWS mentor. MWS also presented a gift to our interns, while PCS iSPACE presented MWS with a token of appreciation for partnering with us to provide meaningful internship opportunities for our CAP interns. ๐Ÿ’

We believe that strong community partnerships create meaningful opportunities for persons with special needs to develop workplace skills, gain real-world experience and build confidence.

๐Ÿค We welcome community care organisations to partner with us in providing internship and employment opportunities for persons with special needs. Together, we can create more inclusive workplaces and empower every individual to reach their potential.

This National Day, we celebrate the people who make Singapore stronger. One of them is Emily Tan.

At 34, Emily lives with a mild intellectual disability, but resilience has always guided her journey. After working as a hotel housekeeper, she upskilled through PCS and found purpose nurturing young minds in a preschool. When downsizing led to job loss, she persevered, retrained through PCS' CareAbilities Programme, and today brings joy to seniors at a senior care centre.

Emily didn't need someone to change who she was.
She needed someone to believe in what she could become.

Singapore's harmony is stronger when every voice is heard, and every gift adds another voice. This National Day, you can empower others like Emily to reach their potential.

CAP Interns Visit Filos Active Ageing Centre Health Carnival
Our CareAbilities Programme (CAP) interns attended the Health Carnival organised by Filos Active Ageing Centre (AAC) in collaboration with 15 AACs within the district. The event featured health talks, interactive activities, karaoke, and lively deejay performances.

Our interns had the opportunity to engage with seniors and learn about the diverse services offered by Active Ageing Centres. They also toured Filos AACโ€™s facilities, including Gym Tonic, where staff demonstrated the use of the health app for warm-up and cool-down exercises. The visit provided valuable exposure to the roles and responsibilities of Care Support Assistants. Thank you, Filos AAC, for the invitation and partnership. We look forward to future collaborations!

We invite community care organisations to partner us in providing internships and employment opportunities for persons with special needs. Together, we can build a more inclusive workforce.
