It is well known that people compare a normal sized prostate to a walnut.

However, as men age the prostate gland can gradually increase in size, leading to various urinary issues. Did you know that 1 in 7 men experience varicocele? And they often describe it as a "bag of worms" feeling.

Varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the sc***um, similar to varicose veins that can occur in the legs. It affects primarily the left side of the sc***um and is a common condition, occurring in about 15% of men.

While many men with varicoceles may not experience symptoms, some possible signs include:
1. Visible or palpable enlarged veins.
2. Discomfort or pain- especially after prolonged standing or physical activity.
3. Testicular atrophy- shrinking of one testicle.
4. Fertility issues- varicoceles are associated with decreased s***m production and quality.

Most men start with medications such as Vi**ra and Cialis. However, they still find themselves unable to sustain an er****on, because the root cause of erectile dysfunction (ED), venous leaks, has not been addressed. In fact, venous leak accounts for 80% of ED.

We first diagnose the venous leak with an ultrasound or CT scan. Treatment is minimally invasive, and involves the use of small biocompatible metallic inert coils or glue to reduce the leak of these veins. As a result, the leak is significantly reduced and blood is retained inside the p***s for a longer period.

Patients report an improvement 24-48 hours after their procedures.

The wall of the aorta can become weak due to various factors, including:
- Atherosclerosis: Buildup of fatty deposits (plaque) in the arteries can damage the aortic wall.
- Genetic Factors: Certain inherited conditions can predispose individuals to weaker arterial walls.
- Infection or Inflammation: Conditions like syphilis or vasculitis can affect the aorta.

As blood flows through the aorta, increased pressure can exacerbate any existing weaknesses, leading to a dilation or bulging of the vessel.

Over time, the weakened area can expand further, potentially leading to a rupture if not monitored or treated.
