Lazy Eye: When the Brain Picks a Favourite š
Turns out, a ālazy eyeā isnāt lazy at all.
Amblyopia develops when the brain begins relying more on one eye, preventing vision in the other from developing normally. It often starts in childhood and may not have obvious signs.
Squinting, closing one eye or tilting the head can be clues, but sometimes, amblyopia is only discovered during an eye check.
The earlier it is detected, the better the opportunity to support healthy vision development.
