At OncoCare, our commitment to cancer care extends beyond the patients we see in our clinics. We believe in contributing to initiatives that can advance the quality of cancer care for patients around the world.

We are proud to support the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) in the development of the new editions of its Breast cancer datasets.

ICCR develops internationally standardised, evidence-based datasets for cancer pathology reporting. These standards help ensure that important information about a patient’s cancer is reported clearly and consistently — supporting more informed diagnosis, treatment decisions and international benchmarking in cancer care.

For OncoCare, supporting initiatives like this has a clear purpose: Better Knowledge and Better Standards help doctors make Better-Informed Decisions for their patients.

We are honoured that OncoCare’s contribution has been recognised through the inclusion of our logo on the ICCR Breast datasets and as an allied organization on the ICCR website: https://www.iccr-cancer.org/

Together, we hope to contribute to better cancer care — not only in Singapore, but around the world.

New knowledge. New possibilities. New hope in lung cancer care. 🌱

Recently, our OncoCare lung cancer specialists attended the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Seoul, where leading experts shared some of the latest advances shaping lung cancer treatment.

In this series, our specialists bring home key updates from the conference:
🌱 Dr Tan Chee Seng shares important developments in small cell lung cancer (SCLC), including emerging targeted approaches and immunotherapy.

🔬 Dr Leong Swan Swan highlights two important Phase III trials in non-small cell lung cancer — REZILIENT3 for EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations and DESTINY-Lung04 for HER2-mutant lung cancer — both reporting encouraging advances in targeted treatment.

For our doctors, attending global scientific meetings is about more than keeping up with research. It is about bringing that knowledge home — and understanding how new evidence may translate into more treatment possibilities for our patients.

Swipe through for the highlights from WCLC 2026.

From a wheelchair to Everest Base Camp — and still exploring. 🌳⛰️

When Mr Michael Chuah first came under the care of our Dr Tan Chee Seng, Senior Medical Oncologist at OncoCare Cancer Centre, he was in very poor condition — unable to walk and using a wheelchair. He had been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that had already spread to other parts of his body.

Molecular testing revealed a MET exon 14 skipping mutation, opening the door to targeted treatment. As Dr Tan shared, advances in personalised cancer therapy mean that treatment can increasingly be tailored according to the molecular profile of each patient’s cancer.

Today, Michael continues treatment and his condition remains stable. More importantly, he continues to live — travelling, hiking, reaching Everest Base Camp, supporting fellow lung cancer patients and, yes… even hugging trees. 🌳❤️

His story is a powerful reminder that a Stage 4 diagnosis does not mean we stop hoping, planning or living.

As Michael puts it: “Sometimes I forget I have cancer. I live for today.”

We are grateful to Michael for sharing his journey so openly, and to CNA Lifestyle for telling his story.

🎀 Stay Ahead of Breast Cancer

Cancer awareness starts with knowledge — and healthcare professionals can play an important role in helping that knowledge reach even further.

At the recent DKSH Patient Purpose Day, our Dr Ooi Wei Seong, Senior Medical Oncologist, shared practical insights on breast cancer prevention, early detection and advances in modern treatment.

By equipping healthcare-related professionals with up-to-date cancer knowledge, we hope to empower them not only to take better care of their own health, but also to raise awareness and encourage early action among the people and communities around them.

Thank you DKSH for creating this meaningful platform for cancer education and awareness. 💗

We’re pleased to see Dr Angela Pang, Senior Medical Oncologist , featured in CNA’s recent Big Read on an important but often overlooked part of the cancer journey — returning to work after treatment.

Cancer recovery doesn’t always end when treatment ends. Even when someone looks well, they may still be managing fatigue, “chemo brain”, emotional challenges, ongoing medication and medical appointments.

As Dr Pang shared with CNA, returning to work is an important milestone for many cancer survivors, but it can also bring anxiety and uncertainty.

At OncoCare, we believe cancer care goes beyond treatment. Supporting patients means understanding the challenges they face as they rebuild their health, confidence and everyday lives.

Thank you CNA for bringing greater awareness to this important conversation. 💙
