World Menopause Day is observed every October 18 to raise awareness and improve understanding of menopause. The International Menopause Society's 2026 theme is “Chronic Pain at Midlife: From recognition to evidence-based care.”

Menopause is a normal life stage, but that doesn't mean every symptom should simply be dismissed as something you have to endure.

Changes can affect sleep, mood, periods, sexual health, temperature regulation, muscles and joints, among other aspects of health.

Symptoms also vary greatly from person to person.

Knowing what you're experiencing is part of being prepared for your health.

If something is affecting your quality of life, talk to a healthcare professional about your options.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time to raise awareness about breast cancer, early detection and timely diagnosis.

Being breast aware doesn't mean constantly worrying about every change.
It means becoming familiar with what is normal for you and paying attention when something changes.

A new lump, change in breast shape or size, skin changes, ni**le changes or unusual discharge can have many possible causes. Most breast changes are not cancer, but new or persistent changes should be assessed appropriately.

Screening recommendations can also depend on your age, personal risk and family history.

Know your normal. Know your risks. Know when to ask.

Speak to a DTAP doctor if you have concerns about a breast change or your screening needs.

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is common, yet widely misunderstood.
You do not need to exhibit every symptom nor be overweight to have PCOS.

Beyond reproductive and fertility health, PCOS can impact broader metabolic and psychological well-being. Furthermore, despite its name, a diagnosis is not based simply on finding "cysts" on the ovaries.

Because symptoms vary significantly from person to person, a comprehensive medical assessment is essential to getting accurate answers.

DTAP Clinic provides Women's Health consultations and diagnostic testing tailored to your individual needs.

Most people think about seeing a doctor when something feels wrong.

But healthcare isn't only about reacting to symptoms.
Preventive care is about understanding your health before a problem becomes difficult to ignore.

Not everyone needs the same tests or screenings, and more testing isn't always better.

The right approach depends on your age, health history, risk factors and individual needs.

Prevention doesn't have to be scary. Sometimes, it simply starts with a conversation.

If your period has always been irregular, it can be easy to assume that this is simply how your body works.

However, persistent irregular cycles can have different causes, including Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS). Understanding the underlying cause is more useful than simply accepting the pattern.

A consultation can help put your symptoms, cycle history, and other health factors into context.

DTAP provides Women's Health consultations and diagnostic testing to help you understand what may be causing your symptoms.

World Mental Health Day is observed every October.

This year's World Health Organization (WHO) theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change,” emphasizing the importance of listening to people with lived experience and making mental healthcare more person-centred.

Mental health is part of health.

Persistent changes in mood, sleep, energy or concentration can have many different causes, and you don't have to wait until you're struggling severely before asking for support.

Sometimes prevention means simply creating space to check in with yourself.

How have you actually been feeling lately?

If something has changed and you're not sure why, talking to a healthcare professional can be a place to start.

A Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) check-up is not simply about getting an ultrasound or one blood test.

Assessment can include your menstrual and ovulatory history, clinical and/or biochemical features, and evaluation of other possible causes depending on your individual situation.

The 2023 international guideline recommends a structured diagnostic approach to improve accuracy and avoid unnecessary over-diagnosis.

If you are concerned about your symptoms, a professional consultation can help determine what assessment may be appropriate.

One common misconception about Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is that everyone experiences the same symptoms.

PCOS is a complex condition with different clinical presentations.
Diagnosis considers the overall picture rather than requiring every commonly associated symptom.

Because similar symptoms can have other causes, a professional evaluation is important for an accurate diagnosis.

DTAP provides Women's Health consultations and diagnostic testing to help clarify your health status.

The first thing you should do if you experience delayed me**es is to seek a doctor’s opinion as early as possible! Also, as mentioned above, doing a urine pregnancy test is one of the basic steps that you can do on your own as well.
