Meet Teyden, a wonderfully cheeky and happy 2-year-old living with Zhu-Tokita-Takenouchi-Kim (ZTTK) syndrome; an ultra-rare genetic condition affecting development.
Teyden's journey has already asked a lot of him and his family. But through it all, they continue to show up, celebrate every milestone and give him every opportunity to grow. ๐
Teyden currently comes to WINGS, where his sessions work on areas including posture, trunk control and overall motor function.
And those little steps are beginning to add up.
Since beginning intensive sessions, Teyden's family has seen meaningful progress, including something especially exciting: he can now sit independently for periods of time, something he wasn't previously able to do. ๐ฅน๐
For most parents, sitting may seem like an ordinary milestone.
For Teyden and his family, it means so much more.
We're incredibly honoured to be one part of this little boy's much bigger journey, and thrilled to see Teyden and his family featured in The Straits Times' Medical Mysteries series, helping bring greater visibility to ZTTK syndrome and families living with ultra-rare conditions.
Every child develops differently. Every journey looks different. And every milestone deserves to be celebrated. ๐ฆ
