"Many times the pressures of modern life, of survival, of work, can push even the most well-intentioned parents right to the edge." 🛑🔥

Parenting and partnership can be incredibly stressful, but what happens when that stress turns into harmful behaviour?

Our Principal Psychologist, June Fong, spoke with CNA about a highly sensitive topic: people who proactively seek help because they fear their own abusive behaviour is hurting their family.

June explains that the journey to change is filled with complex emotions. It often starts with denial and making justifications, before moving into feelings of immense shame and guilt. For many parents, seeing the harm caused to their children is the turning point that pushes them to finally take action.

There is hope. By seeking professional support, individuals can learn to recalibrate, manage their triggers, and do the inner work needed to rebuild positive, safe relationships with their spouses and children.

If you or someone you know is struggling to manage their reactions, please know that support is available. Seeking help early makes a meaningful difference.

Is it just a phase, or has it become an addiction?

Dr Munidasa Winslow is featured on Episode 6 of Ungalukkaga Mediacorp Vasantham TV’s award-winning series, En Ullae Season 3.

This docu-drama takes an honest look at how harmless entertainment can quietly turn into an emotional dependency. The episode highlights the struggles of a youth whose world becomes completely consumed by gaming, leading to a total disconnect from school, family, and even sleep.

Explore the red flags of :
🚩 Reacting with panic, rage, or cold anger when the Wi-Fi drops or a phone is taken away.

🚩 Skipping meals and surviving on snacks just to keep playing.

🚩 Promising "just one more match" but secretly gaming under the blanket until early morning.

🚩 Being physically present but emotionally absent during family time.

Looking for retrenchment support or advice on how to future-proof your career?

The anxiety of retrenchment is real, but waiting passively for news is the most dangerous career move you can make. 👉 You might be a high performer who hit every KPI, yet with news of corporate restructuring everywhere, that nagging fear of losing it all is hard to shake.

You're not alone.

Many professionals respond to job insecurity by falling into the "Hustle Harder" trap - working longer hours and ignoring burnout. But working out of fear clouds your judgement and makes you less agile. Resilience is the new Job Security.

👉 It's about diversifying your skills and managing your emotional regulation so you can navigate market shifts without losing your sense of self.

Promises Healthcare Counsellor Kit Koh shares a 3-Step Protection Plan:
1⃣ Diversify Your Skills: Look for adjacent skills that can't easily replicate.

2️⃣ Regulate, Don't Suppress: Panic is the enemy of career strategy. Keep a cool head.

3️⃣ Narrative Control: Your value is your experience, not your current job title.

Protecting Kids from AI Bullying and Mental Health isn't just a clinic issue. Let’s listen.

Did you know that protecting kids from school bullying like takes more than technology - it takes a village. 🤝🤖

Mental wellness is built beyond the clinic walls. Andy Leach, Principal Addictions Psychotherapist, joined educators at the Singapore Education Network - Singapore Education Lounge (June 2026) to discuss how this modern challenge is causing profound social isolation. 🔥🔥🔥

Our key insight: Avoid quick judgments. 👉 We must engage with curiosity. Parents and teachers need to learn about the AI tools students use to create open, ethical conversations.

Promises Healthcare is proud to listen and collaborate with Singapore’s education sector to build a healthier support ecosystem. Connection, not criticism, is our best support. Let's build a better, stronger community support ecosystem together. 💜

Worried about Singapore PMET retrenchment and your job security?
The career anxiety you are experiencing right now is completely valid. 😵😵😵

Many professionals in Singapore are currently asking themselves why they feel so vulnerable. You did everything right: 👉 you climbed the career ladder, secured a senior title, and consistently delivered excellent results.

But with daily headlines about disruption and corporate restructuring, the nagging fear of losing your job is incredibly hard to shake. 🔥🔥🔥

Despite holding advanced qualifications and years of experience, PMETs are bearing the brunt of recent layoffs. 👉 The hard truth is that the traditional rules of job security have changed. Decades of loyalty and highly specialised knowledge are no longer a guaranteed shield.

If you are feeling the squeeze, please know that working longer hours out of pure fear is not the answer. 👉 Protecting your career means actively managing your professional agility and safeguarding your mental health before a crisis ever hits. Your career strategy and emotional wellbeing must go hand-in-hand.

Kit Koh, Career Coach and Counsellor at Promises Healthcare, advises that true career protection requires diversifying your skills while actively regulating the chronic stress that clouds your judgement.

Stop waiting for the axe to fall. Take back control of your career narrative today by reading Part 2 of our "Work, Worth and Wellbeing" series. Read through to learn more, and tap the link below for the full guide. 💜

Did you know that because of embarrassment, people wait an average of 10 years before asking for help? Many try to fix the perceived issue themselves, and seeking surgical corrections that often leave them feeling even worse. 😩🫥
