St Luke's Hospital - SLH

St Luke's Hospital - SLH A charity healthcare provider enriching lives in the communities since 1996 through clinical, social, and pastoral care.

St Luke’s Hospital, named after the patron saint of the medical profession, was the first hospital in Singapore dedicated to the care of older persons.

Today, we are a community care provider supporting needs through our care ecosystem, spanning inpatient, outpatient, home care and community-based programmes, and specialised areas of care in rehabilitation, dementia, wound and palliative care.

An Institution of a Public Character, we care for 2,500 inpatients and 5,000 outpatients each year, regardless of race, language or religion. Through our Clinical, Social, Pastoral (CSP) care model, we transform lives holistically beyond physical health.

Impactful and innovative in transforming community care, we were the first recipient of the President’s Award for Social Impact (2012), and the first community hospital to receive the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medal (National University Hospital – St Luke’s Hospital Integrated Care Path, 2016).

We partnered the National University Health System (NUHS) to pioneer the Patient Appointment Consolidation (PAC) programme, which won the overall Excellence Champion Medal in the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medals in 2017. In 2022, we were also awarded with the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medal for the Community Response Team (CRT) project, and a joint-hospital Improving Mobility Via Exoskeletons (IMOVE) programme.

Through our concerted efforts to build a thriving workplace, we received the Great Place To Work® certification in 2023, a global standard for quantifying and benchmarking employee experience.

Food is more than nourishment 🍜 — it can be a source of comfort, love and connection.

Through practical tips and real-life stories, Principal Dietitian Serene Tay explores how nutrition can support patients and families in palliative care. Learn how caregivers can provide comfort, preserve dignity, and support well-being when illness affects a loved one’s ability to eat.

Organised by Singapore Hospice Council, the session is part of a series that creates a safe space for open conversations on palliative care between healthcare professionals and the community.

Bringing music and a whole lot of joy 🎶

For the BBPC Ka-imi & Friends ukulele team (Bukit Batok Presbyterian Church), volunteering here is a way to share care, one song at a time.

Through monthly singing sessions, the team brings familiar melodies to the wards, offering comfort and encouragement to patients. In return, they have gained a deeper appreciation for good health, their loved ones, and the courage and joy shown by patients even in difficult circumstances.

For the team, it is also a meaningful way to show God’s love through service. As they put it: “You may hope to encourage others, but often, you will leave encouraged too.”

We began the week by recognising the many hands and hearts behind another year of progress, as we came together with our sister organisation, St Luke's ElderCare, for our 33rd and 26th Annual General Meetings respectively.

Our CEO, Prof Tan Boon Yeow, shared how we are advancing new initiatives across the continuum of care — strengthening partnerships, building sector-wide capabilities, and fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace to deepen our impact in the community.

Guided by our 2030 Vision, Beacon of Light, we remain committed to delivering the best care and experience for our patients and families, while working towards our aspiration to be the Best Community Hospital in Asia.

Together, we continue to strengthen communities, enrich lives and advance the future of care.

Empowering People with Parkinson’s Through Rehabilitation 💪

We’re proud to be one of the day rehabilitation centres supporting the KEEP (Kickstart Exercise and Empower Parkinson’s) programme — a five-year, $4.48 million community rehabilitation initiative launched by Lien Foundation in partnership with Parkinson Society Singapore and healthcare providers.

KEEP supports individuals in the early to mid stages of Parkinson’s through earlier, stage-appropriate rehabilitation in the community. Taking a holistic and proactive approach, the programme brings together physiotherapy, occupational therapy including cognitive rehabilitation, mental health support and caregiver training.

Together, these interventions aim to help individuals with Parkinson’s maintain their independence, function and quality of life, while supporting them to stay active and reduce the risk of falls.
