Founded in 1970 by the late Mr Ang Yew Seng, Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour offers a selection of services to help plan a dignified and meaningful service to commemorate the life that has been lived. Some feel they can speak more comfortably with a woman and share their grief more openly. Here in Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour, our female directors take on a professional and serve personally with dedication as a friend, as inline with our founder's philosophy.

As part of the service we provide, the monk’s role is to guide, to bless and to bring a sense of peace during sea burials. The chanting grounds the moment giving the family something steady to hold onto, a way to express love, respect and farewell. It helps the departed move on and gives the family a sense of calm, closure and acceptance.

作为我们服务的一部分，法师承担着引导、祝福与安抚人心的职责。诵经使这一刻回归宁静，让家属在悲伤之中有所依托，也是一种表达爱、尊重与告别的方式。它不仅引领逝者安然前行，也为在世的人带来平静、释怀与接纳。

Time moves quickly, but meaning does not have to. We have seen how goodbyes can shift the way we view time, nudging us to pause, reflect, and begin again with more care. Every farewell begins with intention, which is what mattered most to the person and those left behind. As the year comes to a close, may we find space to begin again.

Here we are, in the quiet in-between just before leaving for Mandai Crematorium. Our team is already moving, trimming stems, checking leaves, setting aside the freshest picks. Sometimes, a family requests a favourite flower. Not for decoration, but for meaning. Because in that small detail, a memory lives on. A memory tucked into a petal. Silent, but it says everything.

Saying goodbye to a loved one can feel like being stuck in a loop of emotions, memories and questions that go in circles. It may seem like we need something big to shift in order to feel better but often, it is the small steps that carry us through.

Taking a moment to breathe, sitting with our feelings, or talking to someone. These things matter. It is not about “moving on” but slowly finding steadier ground. With each small step, we build strength to keep on going even when the loss still feels close.

与所爱的人告别，就像跌进情绪的深海，回忆和疑问一波接一波。
我们常以为，要靠某种巨大的改变才能让自己好起来。
可真正让人慢慢走出低谷的，往往只是一些细微的小事。
