Some days, life just seems to move in the opposite direction… a response that never comes, a decision that takes forever, etc. When these happen, more often than not, frustration quietly and quickly sneaks in!

Just like the river, the water keeps moving, but not always in a straight line.
It flows around rocks, takes unexpected turns, and still finds its way forward.

As the sun rises at its own pace, the path forward is still there, just slowly unfolding, and often unfolding differently than we imagined!

Patience is not about standing still and hoping for the best. Patience is about staying grounded, just enough to focus on what is within our control. A changed timeline does not automatically mean a changed destination.

Keep moving with intention. The path forward may look different, but it can still lead somewhere meaningful ࿐ ࿔*:・゚.

Patience can be best represented by the little snail on the path. It is still moving forward, just not at the speed the world expects.

In a culture that celebrates instant replies, quick wins, and constant progress, being patient and slowing down can feel uncomfortable.

But patience was never about being passive, quiet, or doing nothing. Patient is about choosing how we show up while things unfold in their own time 🌱.

The next time we feel rushed to reply, let's take one slow breath, name what we are feeling, and respond only after we feel more grounded ༄˖°.🍃.ೃ࿔*:・.

Many couples spend most of their conversations talking about responsibilities, schedules, and everything that keeps life moving.
The Express Yourself Check-In is a simple way to create space for a different kind of conversation.
Questions like:
What's been bringing you energy lately?
What's something you miss doing just for yourself?
What's something you've been feeling but haven't really said out loud?
According to Gottman research, emotional intimacy grows when partners continue sharing their inner world with each other. Not just what's happening around them, but what's happening within them.
This month's Love Notes includes the complete Express Yourself Check-In, along with a guided 10-minute exercise designed to help couples reconnect through curiosity, understanding, and conversation.

Some days feel like your mind and body are constantly on alert.

For individuals with trauma, everyday situations can feel overwhelming, triggering, or exhausting.

Although everyone with trauma will have a unique experience, there are some common signs, including:
🎈 Control issues or needing predictability
🎈 Emotional numbness or dissociation
🎈 High empathy or absorbing others’ emotions
🎈 Flashbacks or intrusive memories
🎈 Perfectionism or self-criticism
🎈 People-pleasing to avoid conflict
🎈 Hypervigilance or always “on edge”
🎈 Overexplaining or justifying actions
🎈 Difficulty trusting others

These responses are ways your body and mind have tried to keep you safe.

Healing involves learning to notice these patterns, regulate your nervous system, and reclaim safety and control in daily life.

At Blue Sky Learning, our trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming therapists and coaches support you in recognizing patterns, understanding triggers, and building coping strategies without shame or self-blame.

Together, we can shift from “Why do I always feel on edge?” to “What steps can help me feel safe and grounded right now?”

There are plenty of times we heard that we need to be patient, especially in this ever-changing and uncertain time.

But what does being patient look like in real life?
Just staying quiet, not doing anything, and suppressing our thoughts and feelings 😥?

In this month’s newsletter, we are taking a closer look at “Patience” and what we actually believe about it. As a teaser, here are 7 "Myth vs Truth" points to get us started.

Hopefully they can be a gentle reminder for us to live more intentionally, starting now.

Let's be patient with ourself. We might be closer than we think ༄˖°.🍃.ೃ࿔*:・
