Over the last 15y, SgDAFNE team has been working to build up the ecosystem for comprehensive Type 1 Diabetes care, from the foundations of education, incorporation of diabetes technology, advocacy for greater access, towards beta cell replacement.

Come and listen to the latest advances in stem-cell derived beta replacement from Natasha Ng, Co-Founder and CEO, BetaLife. Stem-cell derived beta cells replacement aims to restore insulin secretion by generating mature functional beta cells that recapitulate native insulin production and secretion.

BetaLife is a biotech company developing induced pluripotent stem cells as a platform for the generation of autologous or allogenic cell therapies. Natasha graduated with a BSc in Biology at Imperial College London in 2011, completed a DPhil in Medical Sciences at the University of Oxford in 2016 before returning to work at the Stem Cells and Diabetes Lab at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*Star.

sgDAFNE turns 15y in 2026. Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating (DAFNE) is a 5-day Group education course that aims to equip individuals with T1D with skillsets and knowledge to self-manage well with T1D. This includes glucose level interpretation, efficacious insulin dosing and advanced carbohydrate counting. SgDAFNE does not charge for holding this course; we fund the course through regional train-the-trainer programmes.
