Angjolie Mei, who is a certified funeral celebrant, funeral director, as well as a financial advisory representative, aspires to combine the funeral and financial industries into a one-stop “cradle to grave” service to the community. She hopes this would enable her to continue her father’s legacy of “Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour” and better it together with “The Life Celebrant”. The Life Celebrant

’s services will encompass:

- pre-planning and pre-arrangement before one’s death to pave the way for those left behind, eg: Emotional Wills, Trusts and Advanced Medical Directive
- funeral pre-planning arrangement
- organizing funerals, and
- post-funeral administration eg: guidance to relevant legal advisers to administer the estate

Angjolie and her team also provide awareness seminars to various corporations and organizations, on the importance of pre-planning in funeral arrangement to help families prepare for the inevitable eventuality.”

In her words, Angjolie says, “I hope through giving extra care and through innovation, The Life Celebrant may bring about the changes needed to make funerals more meaningful to both the lives of the deceased and their loved ones”.

A century of life is a rare and extraordinary gift. 🤍

During a recent funeral service, our team at The Life Celebrant was honoured to capture this tender, spontaneous moment of the great-grandchildren holding each other close at front altar of their beloved great-grandma. In their quiet, innocent embrace, they revealed the enduring heart of family, finding solace in one another, just as Great-Grandma united generations with her gentle, boundless love.

Though a remarkable 102-year journey has drawn to a peaceful close, her warmth, kindness, and light carry on, beautifully reflected in the bright smiles and future of these little ones.

Rest in peace, Great-Grandma. Thank you for a century of pure love and a legacy that will forever live in our hearts. 🌿✨

Not every farewell has to be about saying goodbye.

Recently, we had the privilege of honouring Derrick. He wasn’t defined by the day he died, but by the way he lived. His love for photography. His heart for Japan. His favourite sake. The people who shaped him.

So instead of a funeral centred around death, we created a farewell centred around his life. Guests didn’t just see a casket. They walked through Derrick’s story, every table a chapter, every keepsake a memory someone had shared with him.

There were tears. There was laughter. For those few hours, grief and gratitude sat side by side.

After the service, his ashes were placed into one of his favourite sake bottles before his final scattering out at sea. True to who he was, right to the end.

Every life tells a story. Derrick’s was beautifully told. 🤍

Jamie once cared for those who could still hold her hand, respond, and share their day. Now, at The Life Celebrant, she cares for those who no longer can, tending to them with the same warmth, the same quiet presence, the same listening ear to grieving families.

The setting shifts. The compassion stays.
