After a month away, I’m finally back in the gym.
Last month, while exercising, I injured my back.
Yes, I’m a health & wellness coach.
Yes, I’ve been training consistently for 8+ years.
And yes, I still got injured.
Within seconds, I felt dizzy, my lower body went numb, and I experienced tremendous lower-back pain. I had to be rushed by ambulance from the gym to Changi Hospital.
Thankfully, I received treatment within the first hour. After assessment, the doctors told me there was no permanent or severe damage.
And that experience taught me something I already believed but now understand at a much deeper level:
Healthy living doesn’t make you invincible.
It makes you stronger when life tests you.
Years of regular exercise, healthy nutrition and an active lifestyle may not have prevented the injury, but they helped my body recover remarkably quickly. Within almost 24 hours, I was back to my routine.
I genuinely feel blessed and I am God’s favourite child.
I’m also deeply grateful to the people at my gym who immediately helped me, called the ambulance and stayed with me until I received medical care.
Strength isn’t just about how much weight you can lift.
Real strength is having a body capable of getting back up when life knocks you down.
Today, I’m back in the gym not because I’m invincible, but because I’m grateful.
Take care of your body.
Build your strength.
Because you never know when you’ll need it.
