Research found that men with gynecomastia (enlarged male breast tissue) had significantly lower testosterone levels though only 1 in 3 were technically testosterone-deficient.

They also reported more sexual health complaints, including:

Gynecomastia is uncommon in men with sexual dysfunction but when it shows up, it may be a clinical red flag pointing to an underlying testosterone problem worth investigating further.

Did you know up to 6% of people have "extra" breast tissue?

Researchers reviewed 200 breast disease cases and found 32 involving accessory breast tissue (patients aged 23โ€“67). Accessory breast is a leftover tissue from the embryonic "milk line" that didn't fully disappear before birth.

Most often it shows up in the armpit, and while it's usually harmless, it can cause pain, self-consciousness, or, rarely, mask something more serious. That's why proper diagnosis matters.

Study conclusion:
โ€ข More common in women, and slightly more common on the left side
โ€ข Most people sought care for cosmetic reasons, not pain, a sign that awareness is still low, especially in rural areas
โ€ข Even a "harmless-looking" swelling should be checked, not ignored; it can occasionally hide malignancy
