This World Sight Day, let's remember that healthy vision supports the moments we cherish every day. πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘οΈ

At Claris Eye Centre, we believe that regular eye screenings and early detection are important aspects of proactive eye care. Many eye conditions can develop gradually and may not present obvious symptoms in their early stages.

Whether you're due for a routine eye check, require diabetic eye screening, or simply want greater peace of mind about your eye health, our screening services are designed to help you better understand and monitor your vision.

🌫️ Haze doesn't just affect the air you breathe. It can also irritate the surface of your eyes, causing redness, itchiness, watering, dryness, and a gritty sensation

Simple steps can help:
πŸ‘‰Keep your eyes lubricated
πŸ‘‰Wear spectacles instead of contact lenses (if needed)
πŸ‘‰Resist rubbing your eyes
πŸ‘‰Reduce time outdoors during poor air quality periods

While most haze-related eye irritation improves with simple self-care, it's important to listen to what your eyes are telling you.

If you experience eye pain, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, significant discharge, worsening redness or swelling, or symptoms that aren't improving, consider reaching out to your eye doctor for personalised advice and assessment.

🌫️ Noticing colours look less vibrant or finding glare more bothersome, especially when driving at night?

Changes like these can sometimes be early signs of cataracts, even before vision becomes noticeably blurry. Over time, cataract can affect colour perception, contrast, sensitivity to glare and overall visual clarity.

If you’ve noticed changes in how you see, an eye assessment can help determine whether cataracts may be affecting your vision and whether treatment is appropriate.

A day of wellness, with eye health in the mix! πŸ‘οΈ

The Claris Eye Centre team recently took part in a corporate wellness carnival, where we provided basic visual acuity, eye pressure and colour vision screening for employees as part of the day’s health and wellness activities.

It was a great opportunity to meet participants and encourage greater awareness of eye health as part of overall well-being. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and took part. We’re glad to play a part in supporting healthier workplaces and keeping eye health in sight βœ¨πŸ‘€βœ¨

Blurry, cloudy, or dimmer vision that develops gradually over time could be a sign of cataracts, one of the most common causes of vision loss as we age.

Cataracts develop when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy, affecting everyday activ uch as reading, driving, and seeing clearly.

While cataracts are commonly age-related, they can also develop due to conditions such as diabetes, long-term steroid use, or eye injuries.

If changes in your vision are affecting your daily life, speak to an ophthalmologist to find out if cataract treatment may be right for you.

A meaningful Saturday spent giving back to the community. πŸ’›πŸ‘οΈπŸ”Ž

Last weekend, the Claris Eye Centre team volunteered at the annual Nanyang Health Carnival, where we supported the community with eye checks including visual acuity, auto-refraction and eye pressure measurements.

It was a busy morning, with residents of all ages coming by throughout the event. We were glad to play our part in raising awareness of eye health and encouraging the community to take better care of their vision.

A long but fulfilling day for the team and one we were happy to be part of! Thank you to the organisers and everyone who stopped by our booth. πŸ’›

Not sure if it's time for cataract surgery? If everyday tasks like reading or driving feel harder, glare is bothering you more, or your vision just isn't what it used to be it might be worth checking.

Watch the video to understand some common indicators of when cataract surgery may be recommended. Knowing the early signs of cataracts and knowing when surgery is right for you starts with a proper eye assessment.

What happens to our eyes as we get older and what changes should we be looking out for? πŸ‘€

Yesterday, Dr .mii spoke to staff from a local university about common age-related eye conditions, including cataracts, floaters, AMD, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.

From recognising symptoms to understanding prevention and treatment options, it was a lively and engaging session with plenty of great questions from participants.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We hope the session encouraged everyone to pay a little more attention to their eye health as they age. πŸ’›

Cataracts are one of the most common causes of gradual vision changes, but because they develop slowly, the early signs are often easy to miss.πŸŒ«οΈπŸ‘€

If reading feels harder, driving at night has become more challenging, or colours don't seem as vivid as before, it may be worth getting your eyes checked.

Talking to an ophthalmologist about any changes in your vision can help you better understand what's causing your symptoms and what options may be available to you.
