The Foundation had its beginnings as an informal volunteer group in 1992 which provided transport and escort services to elderly and immobile patients who needed to attend specialist outpatient clinics in hospitals. Seeing the need for a more comprehensive approach to helping the frail elderly, the Foundation was formally set up in 1995 and registered as a charity in 1996.

It takes many hands and hearts to build a caring and connected community, and CEF is glad to play our part. In this month of celebrating National Day, CEF partnered the National Day Parade (NDP) Outreach organising committee to be a part of the celebrations at Heartbeat@Bedok.

On 28 August 2026, we were delighted to join fellow community partners at the NDP Appreciation Dinner, celebrating the collective efforts behind NDPeepsโ€™ Outreach events.

A meaningful moment for us was our Executive Director, Mr Bryan Poh, receive a Token of Appreciation on behalf of CEF from Mr Chow Cheok Kai, Chairman of NDP 26 Outreach Committee โ€” a recognition that we share with our team and everyone who supports the work we do in the community.

For CEF, community engagement goes hand in hand with our mission of caring for our elderly and supporting their caregivers and families. Every opportunity to connect, collaborate and contribute helps us extend that spirit of care beyond our services.

We look forward to be a part of NDP Community Outreach again next year as our nation celebrates NS60! Majulah Singapura! ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

We were glad to be part of Antica Carnivalโ€™s OneSG61 Celebration on 22 and 23 August 2026 as one of our community partners!

It was also our pleasure to welcome Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, to the CEF booth, where our Executive Director, Mr Bryan Poh, shared more about the work we do to support frail and homebound elderly, as well as their caregivers and families.

A big thank you to Antica Community Development and Services, one of CEFโ€™s community partners, for having us and for your continued support. We appreciate opportunities like these that bring the community together and allow us to share more about our cause.

It was a pleasure for CEFโ€™s Board representatives, Venerable Wei Zhi and Dr Ng Wai Chong, together with our Executive Director, Mr Bryan Poh, to host delegates from Nanjing Yinxuan Group (ๅ—ไบฌ้“ถ่ฝฉๅบทๅ…ป้›†ๅ›ข) and Tiong Seng Group (ๅคฉๆดฅ้•ฟๆˆๅบทๅ…ป้›†ๅ›ข) at our new centre, Family Haven.

The visit provided a meaningful opportunity for us to introduce CEF and our services, while learning more about the healthcare projects undertaken by both organisations.

It was a fruitful exchange, and we look forward to collaboration opportunities.

Care for the Elderly Foundation (CEF) was delighted to be a part of the Tampines: Harmony in Unity & Diversity event held at Our Tampines Hub on 25 July.

We were especially honoured that CEFโ€™s Honorary Secretary, Venerable Wei Zhi, was invited to participate in the Interfaith & Intergenerational Prayers, a meaningful segment that brought together people of different faiths and generations to share their hopes for peace, harmony and community well-being.

Established by Kwang Hua Buddhist Monastery, CEF is a community care initiative committed to extending compassionate care to the elderly and caregivers, while fostering a more caring and inclusive community.

We thank the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), Tampines GRC and Kwang Hua Buddhist Monastery for the opportunity for us to be part of this meaningful celebration of unity in diversity.

Organised by PCF Foundation and the Womenโ€™s Wing of PAP Cheng San Branch, our team of social workers from CEF conducted an engagement session for caregivers at PCF Sparkletots Ang Mo Kio.

Our social workers shared on how caregiving journey and needs evolve, as both caregivers and care recipients grow older. Our team also discussed with the participants how to manage caregiver stress and develop their self-care plan, as well as shared resources for mental health support. Through small group facilitation, 30 caregivers were given a safe space to share their experiences, challenges and questions.

We appreciate the collaborative effort and look forward to more opportunities in empowering caregivers through training and emotional support.

In collaboration with our community partner, Aranya Sangha Dana Fellowship, Staff Wellness Day was planned for both teams to take a break from work routine and focus on strengthening our body balance and caring for our mental health. CEFโ€™s Board President, Dr Ong Seh Hong, also facilitated a session for everyone to experience how to incorporate mindfulness in life and know when to take a mental pause at work.

We made a group visit to Singapore ไบบ exhibition at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, where colleagues from different backgrounds came together to have better understanding on the Singapore culture through games and personal sharing of dialect practices.

In conjunction with Nursesโ€™ Day, we celebrate the hard work and dedicated service from our team of staff nurses and care associates. Dr Tham, our Clinical Director, showed his appreciation by acknowledging the consistent effort from clinical staff to do regular check-ins and intervention, which makes patient care with doctors more meaningful. Aranyaโ€™s General Manager, Mr Cell Lim, also gave thanks to the nurses and care associates who have been a strong pillar of support in caring for their beneficiaries in the community.
