As August comes to a close, so does Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Awareness Month.

But the conversation doesn’t have to end here.

There’s still so much about pelvic health and women’s health that isn’t talked about enough! The symptoms, the discomfort, and all the things women have learnt to live with.

So we’ll keep talking about it. Because these conversations matter, long after the awareness month ends.

Let us know in our DMs or in the comments what else you’d like to know more about 💭

A year ago, we opened Calyx with a vision for women’s health, and over the past year, that vision has continued to grow alongside the women we care for.

We’ve listened closely to our patients.

To what they’re struggling with, what they wish they’d known sooner, what support actually makes a difference, and about how confusing it can be to even figure out where to start when it comes to getting support 👀

So we’re refreshing our service list. Making it simpler, more transparent and way less intimidating to find exactly what you need.

Follow along Calyx | 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 & 𝐏𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲. We’re just getting started ✨

DR recovery at Calyx takes into account the bigger picture.

Some moms need more support with movement and core connection.

Some are trying to get back into exercise safely.

Some just want reassurance that they’re recovering normally.

All of those are valid reasons to seek support 👌🏼

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed about your recovery options or want a better idea of what support could look like for you, feel free to DM or WhatsApp us to book an assessment.

Postpartum recovery can feel strangely competitive online sometimes, with different moms experiencing different symptoms and healing at different rates.

But healing isn’t linear and there’s no ideal postpartum timeline your body needs to follow.

A LOT of things can affect the way you recover, which is why comparing your recovery to someone else’s can create a lot of unnecessary fear.

A lot of moms have questions about these things! Our DMs and WhatsApp are always open if you’d like to learn more about how Calyx can support you postpartum 🫶🏻

One of the hardest parts about postpartum recovery is how easy it is to spiral early on (we’ve been there too!)

The first few months are when your body is doing a lot of its healing, so we want to focus on supporting it. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference:

→ wearing snug yoga shorts or pants
→ breathing exercises to reconnect with your deep core muscles
→ gentle everyday movement that encourages healing without overloading your body
→ giving your body ample rest, sleep and nutrition it needs to encourage tissue healing

And because no two postpartum recoveries are the same, that’s where seeing a women’s health physio can really help.

We’ll look at your recovery, your lifestyle, your goals, and what’s happening in *your* body to help you understand what’s normal and where a little extra support could make a difference.

Questions about your recovery? Feel free to DM us or WhatsApp the clinic. We’re always happy to help. 🫶🏼

Been told you have a 3-4 finger gap? 😱

The amount of fear we see around DR online can honestly make postpartum recovery feel WAY scarier than it needs to be.

Abdominal separation during pregnancy is actually a normal adaptation 🤰🏻. Your body is making room for your growing baby, and for most women, some separation is expected. This means that not every gap points to a problematic DR!

We’re often more interested in how your core is working than simply measuring the width of a gap 📐📏.

We’ll be unpacking all of this in our DR series, so stick around for Part 2 over at .

If you or someone you know is feeling unsure about postpartum recovery or have questions about DR, you can always DM or WhatsApp us to book an assessment. 💬

July is International Diastasis Recti Awareness Month.

Diastasis recti is one of the most talked about yet misunderstood postpartum conditions.

We often hear women say:
• “I still look pregnant years later.”
• “Is this the gap? It hasn’t closed.”
• “I was told not to lift anything.”
• “I don’t know if I have diastasis recti.”
• “Is this just fats, will it ever go away.”

There is a lot of conflicting information out there.

Throughout July, we’ll be sharing a series of conversations about diastasis recti, what it is, what it isn’t, and how recovery can look different for every woman.

Follow along this month as we unpack common myths, assessment, recovery, and support for diastasis recti✨

We’d also love to hear from you:
What have you been told about diastasis recti that left you confused, worried, or unsure?
