Great conversations and great people at CBRA 2026 🇧🇷

This year’s Brazilian Congress of Assisted Reproduction in Recife was a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues.

Our Scientific Director, Birol Aydin ( ), represented Ovogene at the congress as a speaker and also had the chance to spend time with Jhenifer Kliemchen Rodrigues (Jhenifer Kliemchen Rodrigues ), Fernando Mares Guia Jr. (Fernando Mares Guia Jr ) and Julia Castello Branco Costa

Sexual Health Week 2026 is here, and this year’s theme is “Let’s Connect.”

One of those conversations is fertility.

For many couples, it stays somewhere in the background until a decision has to be made or a difficulty appears. But expectations around parenthood, timing and reproductive choices can be very different — even between people who have been together for years.

Ovogene at CBRA 2026 🇧🇷

Our Scientific Director, Birol Aydin ( ), took the stage at the 30th Brazilian Congress of Assisted Reproduction in Recife.

His session, “Oocyte Cryopreservation: Present Landscape, Pitfalls and Remediation Strategies,” focused on the current state of oocyte cryopreservation, the challenges embryologists continue to face in clinical practice, and the approaches that can help improve outcomes.

Thank you to the organizers of CBRA 2026 and everyone who joined Birol’s session. It was a pleasure to contribute to the scientific program and connect with colleagues in Recife. 💙

The process starts long before you see a donor profile.

Each candidate completes a detailed questionnaire and interview, where personal and family medical history, lifestyle, and other relevant information are reviewed.

The next stage is medical screening. It includes laboratory testing, infectious disease screening, hormone assessment and ultrasound, as well as genetic and karyotype testing.

Candidates also undergo psychological evaluation and assessment by a fertility specialist before a final decision is made.

Only after completing these stages and meeting the program requirements can a candidate be approved as an Ovogene egg donor.
