The HONE app isn’t just about identifying what needs work - it’s about uncovering what’s already working, too.

The moments of connection.
The culture being built.
The athletes thriving because a coach showed up the right way.

Jessica Renney, HONE co-founder, shares insights from the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Men’s World Championship in Zurich, Switzerland.

Coaches are the heartbeat of every team. HONE helps validate the impact they’re already making while bringing visibility to the things that often go unseen.

Because when coaches feel supported, athletes do too. And that’s where stronger cultures - and stronger performance - begin.

HONE co-founder Jessica Renney reminding us that mental fatigue doesn’t just show up on game day.

It builds over time - through preparation, practices, travel, pressure, expectations, tournaments, playoffs, and the constant demand to perform.

Short-term events can create long-term strain.

When we talk about “stressors,” what do we actually mean?

With HONE, athletes/officials anonymously “check-in” through the weekly (or in tournaments daily) survey, and rate how they’re feeling across key stressors impacting their mental wellness and performance readiness.

When trends begin to emerge, we equip athletes/officials and coaches, with practical tools, strategies, and expert-guided support to address them before they become bigger barriers to performance.

And for those who need additional support, HONE’s Reach Out feature creates direct one-on-one access to psychotherapist professionals in a safe and confidential way.

Because mental readiness isn’t optional - it’s part of performance.

If you’re not training the mind, you’re only halfway there.

Wondering that we’ve been up to behind the scenes!?

Pressure moments demand more than physical preparation.

At the Ice Hockey World Championship, HONE Co-Founder Jessica Renney is rinkside supporting athletes and officials where mental readiness matters most - in the moments where the pressure is highest and the margins are razor thin.

From pre-game preparation to in-game support, HONE is helping build performance-ready athletes and environments through expert-guided mental wellness tools and strategies.

Because when the stakes rise, readiness matters.

Leadership in sport isn’t defined by title - it’s defined by how you show up for the people around you.

In our latest Long Game conversation, Tom Renney shares why disposition, culture, and human connection matter just as much as systems and strategy when building high-performing teams.

Because if we want stronger athletes, we need stronger environments.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms who compete, lead, sacrifice, support, drive, cheer, listen, and love without limits.

To the mothers raising athletes - and to the athletes who are mothers themselves - we see you.

The early mornings. The quiet encouragement. The strength you carry for everyone around you.

Because all this world really is… is mothers and their children

Thank you for building resilience, confidence, connection, and care - not just in sport, but in life.

Today’s coaches are expected to wear more hats than ever before.

Coach.
Mentor.
Teacher.
Mediator.
Culture builder.

And increasingly, they’re expected to support athlete mental wellness too.

Most coaches were never trained for that.

At HONE, we believe coaches shouldn’t have to figure it out alone.

We provide the tools, guidance, and support to help coaches build mentally ready athletes and stronger team cultures.

Because supporting performance means supporting the people behind it.

Coaches spend hours preparing athletes to perform.

Practice plans. Systems. Skill development.

But the moments that decide games?

Confidence.
Composure.
Connection.
Resilience.

Those aren’t built by accident.

They’re trained.

This week, we’re breaking down how coaches can build mentally ready athletes - without adding more to their plate.

Follow along.

There’s something about being part of the action.

Paula McQuaid, HONE co-founder, on the ground, working daily with coaches, athletes, and officials - seeing firsthand what the game demands beyond the physical.

At the U18 Men’s World Championship in Slovakia, it’s clear: performance isn’t just built on the ice.

It’s built through connection, trust, and mental readiness.

Stronger humans. Stronger teams. Better sport.

"Play through it or you'll be seen as weak."

For so many athletes, that's not a coach's voice - it's the culture itself.

Sharon Roberts spent years inside that culture. Now she's reflecting on what mental readiness actually means, and what she wishes had existed sooner.

"It does create a competitive advantage… if you have a dressing room - on the pitch, on the ice, on the floor, on the court - in a good place mentally, at the end of the day does become a collective advantage"

Tom Renney, Senior Advisor to Hone Athletics, has seen what separates good teams from great ones. It's not just talent. It's mental wellness.
Hone's whole ideology is to maximize human potential within your team. And in a world where success is measured by the scoreboard, that edge matters.
Coaching and leadership is a tough gig. Hone is here to help you simplify it — and elevate it.
A program whose time has come. 🏒
