Why most people think syrups are for babies
Last week I had a call from a friend; she complained about a sore throat and coughing. As a professional who doesn’t like to recommend antibiotics for such conditions, I asked her to come to the pharmacy. When she came, I gave her cough mixture.

She responded, "I am the one who is coughing, not my daughter." I said, "I know, but with the cough mixture you will be okay." She said, "As an adult, why should I take cough mixture? Are syrups not for babies and children?"
I smiled and said, "No, Madam. Syrups and suspensions are for everyone;

they are equally effective as tablets and capsules, so forget the sweet taste that is just to make it appealing to take."

So just because it is syrup doesn’t mean it does not have side effects, so take it as prescribed. If you exceed the prescriber limit, you will experience side effects, so be mindful.

She took the cough mixture and left; after a couple of days, she called and said she was fine.
