🌿 Nature is constantly transforming itself.

Here in the Sine Saloum delta region of Senegal the salt flats are carved into the earth, where water evaporates and salt crystallizes on the surface. Depending on the soil and algae, the pools shift into extraordinary shades yellows, oranges, browns, and pinks.

Beneath the surface, life continues: crabs, microorganisms, and a wider ecosystem adapted to extreme conditions. Even wildlife is drawn into this delicate balance, while local communities harvest salt that supports their livelihoods.

It also feels like a reflection of coaching work: noticing what is already there, trusting slow processes, and supporting the conditions where transformation can emerge naturally. 🌿

New tools, new energy 🎨

I have been experimenting with watercolor pens and I love how freeing they feel. You can draw with precision and then softly blur the colours, letting them move and flow.

What do you see and feel when you look at this?

As I created this image, I began to notice a female form emerging… soft curves, a sense of life force energy swirling into being…

I love the description my mum calls this kind of drawing which is 'taking your pencil for a walk'. Clouds, a friend and peer expressive arts coach, shared another name… neurographics, an evidence-based artistic practice that can calm the mind and soothe the nervous system.

This is exactly the kind of exploration I bring into my work at One Singing Heart 💛

🌿 If you’re feeling called to reconnect with yourself through creativity and calm, my coaching sessions are a space for that.

✨When was the last time you had a really good dance?

If you can’t remember, maybe today is the day to change that. Put on some music you love and let your body move.

Movement shifts energy. And when energy moves, things begin to flow again—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Emotions are energy in motion. When we allow them space to move, we often find more clarity, ease, and connection within ourselves.

Nature is just incredible. 🌿

This plant, Indigofera tinctoria, transforms from simple green leaves into the most vivid blue dye… almost unbelievable.

I discovered this in the Sine-Saloum Delta, among mangroves, islands, and extraordinary wildlife.

On Niodior island, whilst travelling with a student group we met Lika Sarr, whose women’s cooperative creates beautiful indigo-dyed garments while generating income and opportunity for the community.

What stayed with me most is this: transformation takes time, care, and process whether in nature or in ourselves.

From leaf to dye, from idea to reality, from where we are to where we want to be… change is always possible.

✨ This incredible capacity of nature to transform exists in us as well.

Travelling with a group of 16–18-year-old students in Senegal, I’ve been reminded of how powerful it is to step outside of what’s familiar.

One of the things I’ve loved most over these past two weeks is the spontaneity that exists within the structure of our programme.

We had the opportunity to meet a local artist, Moussa, whose paintings are deeply inspired by the issue of clandestine migration, and whose sculptures are created from recycled materials he collects in his environment.

He invited the students to join him in contributing to his latest piece, an artwork focused on environmental awareness, which will be shared with the local mayor’s office in Popenguine, Senegal.

It was beautiful to see how connection unfolds naturally when we are open to it!

🎬 UPDATE! Just received incredible news from the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival!

I’m proud to share that Xool Ma! / Regarde-moi! has been awarded a Special Mention in Animation at the 42nd edition of the festival in Montreal.

Xool Ma! means ‘See me’ in Wolof and relays a powerful message in a world where people struggling with mental health are too often stigmatized or overlooked.

This experimental film was first presented in November 2024 during the Biennale de Dakar, alongside an exhibition of paintings created at the art therapy space at the psychiatric clinic in Dakar, with funding from the Luxembourg Embassy in Dakar.

We are incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to present the film to audiences there, and to be part of a platform that celebrates and elevates African and Creole cinema.

Congratulations to everyone at Studio Kakatar and Collectif RESCAP’ART !!

What is leadership? It begins within ✨

In collaboration with Beautiful Soul, I recently had the opportunity to work alongside the Canadian Embassy in Senegal, facilitating workshops on communication and self-leadership.

Two themes that can truly make or break relationships and dynamics within any organization.

No matter who you are or the position you hold, these are skills you cannot opt out of.
They shape how we navigate difficult conversations, manage emotions, and create alignment within teams.

Strong organizations are built on individuals who are willing to reflect, adapt, and grow. That’s where real leadership starts.

👉 If this resonates, let’s connect and explore how we can support your organisation’s transformation.

Back on the road with Where There Be Dragons 🌍✨

Grateful to be working alongside a wonderful team, accompanying students as they step into the unknown, embracing immersive, creative experiences here in Senegal.

Today brought us to a Montessori-inspired community school in the stunning surroundings of Ndayane. We began with intention setting… working with clay… all accompanied by the gentle soundtrack of singing birds, rustling leaves, and the soulful notes of the kora.

A powerful moment of stillness.

This moment to pause is what I also offer in my one-to-one coaching session. A moment for you to connect deeply with yourself and ask what do I really need right now? 👉 Contact me to explore how I can accompany you!

🌍 Some of the most powerful moments in travel come from the people you meet.

Through my work accompanying students with 'Where There Be Dragons', we spend time learning alongside local communities. One experience that stayed with us recently was meeting Awa.

She was trained in tie-dye making by NGO Tostan whilst in prison and now runs her own workshops, training others. As we sat listening to her story, followed by a tie-dye making session, one sentence landed with all of us:

✨ “You have got to believe in yourself.”

A simple powerful reminder of what is possible with the right support, belief, and opportunity.

Right when I needed it most…

During a challenging week, I was on the school run… feeling agitated, tired, in my head, just pushing through.

Then I saw a man at the crossing in a t-shirt that read: 'Never give up.'

Somehow, it helped to shift everything that day. It was a quiet but powerful reminder. Enough to lift my energy and redirect my focus with determination.

Yes. I am not giving up on:

Inner peace even when life feels very loud.
Seeing good even when it seems hard to find.

Stillness especially in the chaos.

Holding my ground when it’s needed…
And letting go when it is not.

What are you never giving up on? ✨
