✅ OFFICIAL: Jorge Jesús is the NEW MANAGER of the Portugal national team 🇵🇹
The Portuguese coach was free since June 30 after failing to renew his contract with Al Nassr. A few weeks ago, Jesus himself had revealed that his signing for the Arab club had been entirely influenced by the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"When I received the invitation from Semedo (executive director of Al Nassr) and Cris, I only accepted the challenge to help him win titles in Saudi Arabia. That was my purpose," Jorge said.
And it was exactly what happened: they were champions of the Saudi League and CR7 had his first title in Asia.
Now the Portuguese Football Federation didn't wait even a week after the elimination of the World Cup and the departure of Roberto Martinez to sign him as their new coach.
