Handwashing: The Worldโ€™s Most Underrated โ€œMedicineโ€.

Before modern medicine, there was handwashing, and itโ€™s still saving millions. Just 20 seconds with soap and clean water stops the spread of diarrhoea, flu, Ebola, cholera, and more. Prevention is often more powerful than treatment.

The best โ€œmedicineโ€ isnโ€™t a pill, itโ€™s:
๐Ÿซง Soap
๐Ÿ’ง Clean water
โฑ๏ธ A daily habit

Wash your hands:
ยท Before eating or handling food
ยท After using the toilet
ยท After coughing or sneezing
ยท Before touching your face
ยท After crowded places

Invisible germs travel from hands to mouth, food, and loved ones. Good hand hygiene saves lives.

Public health starts with simple habits. Share this, clean hands protect entire communities.

๐Ÿšจ Ebola Update for South Sudan: What You Need to Know

Youโ€™ve heard the news. Here are the facts, short, and verified.

What Is Happening?

1. An Ebola outbreak (Bundibugyo strain) is active in Ituri Province, DRC, near our border.
2. One case confirmed in Uganda.
3. 246+ suspected cases, 80 suspected deaths reported so far.
4. WHO has declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
5. No approved vaccine or specific treatment exists for this strain.
6. As of today, NO Ebola case has been confirmed in South Sudan.

Our Ministry of Health is on high alert and has released an official statement. We are watching closely.

How Ebola Spreads:

Through direct contact with body fluids of a sick person: blood, vomit, diarrhoea, sweat, saliva.
It does not spread through the air.

Warning Signs:

- Sudden fever.
- Severe headache.
- Vomiting.
- Diarrhoea.
- Muscle pain.
- Unexplained bleeding.

If you or someone you know has these symptoms AND has recently travelled from DRC, Uganda, or border areas, act fast.

What to Do Now:
โœ… Call 6666, free Ministry of Health hotline.
โœ… Go to the nearest health facility immediately. Do not wait at home. Do not self-medicate.
โœ… Avoid direct contact with body fluids of anyone who is sick.
โœ… Wash your hands often with soap and clean water.

What NOT to Do:
โŒ Donโ€™t share unverified voice notes or rumours. Check information only from the Ministry of Health, WHO, or trusted health professionals.
โŒ Donโ€™t take any medicine โ€œjust in case.โ€ There is no preventive drug.
โŒ Donโ€™t touch the body of someone who died of unknown illness. Alert authorities.
โŒ Donโ€™t avoid clinics out of fear. Early care saves lives.

Our Promise to You:
Weโ€™re your community pharmacy. In emergencies, we share facts, not products. If the official situation changes, weโ€™ll update you immediately. Stay calm. Stay clean. Stay informed.

๐ŸŽ—๏ธ WORLD OVARIAN CANCER DAY | MAY 8, 2026.

World Ovarian Cancer Day is a reminder that ovarian cancer continues to affect thousands of women worldwide, often silently because the symptoms can easily be overlooked.

Every year, over 300,000 women are diagnosed globally, and many cases are discovered late. Symptoms such as persistent bloating, abdominal pain, feeling full quickly, changes in appetite, or unusual pelvic discomfort should never be ignored.

While not all cases can be prevented, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, staying physically active, managing weight, and going for regular medical checkups may help lower certain risks and support early detection.

The 2026 theme, โ€œNo Woman Left Behind,โ€ is a global call to ensure that every woman has access to awareness, timely diagnosis, quality treatment, and compassionate care regardless of where she lives.

At Good Life Pharmacy, we stand with every woman, every family, and every survivor in the fight against ovarian cancer.

Together, letโ€™s spread awareness, encourage early checkups, and remind women that paying attention to their health can save lives.
