Independent researchers have estimated that pharmaceutical companies have, at times, spent nearly twice as much on marketing and promotion as on research and development.

We need what works—not what marketing tells us works. If free markets and freedom of speech are fundamental values, why do they sometimes seem more like an illusion than a reality?

Patients deserve transparent science, open debate, and the freedom to make informed decisions based on evidence, not the influence of advertising or financial interests.

This Herb was traditionally used in Thailand for medicine, food, and daily life for thousands before Western pressure helped drive strict prohibition policies.

Historical Thai medical texts contain at least 26 psychoactive herb-based remedies, while 16 selected formulations have been officially recognized for modern Thai traditional medical use.

Thailand’s approach to drug policy has undergone one of the most remarkable transformations in modern history.

During the 2003 War on Drugs, Thailand faced international scrutiny over allegations of human-rights violations, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and concerns about due process.

For decades, this herb remained a narcotic, and many people faced life imprisonment under prohibition policies and potential Death Penalty

In 2022, Thailand took a dramatically different path by removing the Herb from the narcotics list.

Thousands of people convicted solely of cannabis-related offences became eligible for release or had charges dropped, confiscated cultivation equipment and property were returned in many eligible cases, and the government launched a program distributing approximately one million plants to encourage household cultivation.

The shift reflected a new emphasis on medical use, scientific research, agriculture, and economic opportunity—demonstrating how policy can evolve as evidence, public health priorities, and leadership change.

What if Medicinal Herb in all its forms was treated like Alcohol and To***co?

What if Free Markets and Freedom of Choice truly exist?

We would have seen fewer cases of smoking-related disease, alcohol-related injuries, and cancer would dramatically decrease globally.

Pharmacies might sell fewer remedies, bartenders would need new careers, less violent crimes, reduced vehicle accidents, and some jail cells could be a little less crowded.

Maybe humanity would have spent more time arguing about gardening than amongst ourselves.

One herb inspires hugs. One liquor fuels fights.

When Law Creates “Criminals” From Patients in Pain

Outdated laws, rigid drug-testing policies and poor institutional understanding can treat law-abiding patients like criminals simply for using a legally prescribed herb.

Patients may face arrest, prosecution, rejected employment or professional exclusion even when following medical advice. In this economy, it can be devastating.

The stigma becomes punishment before impairment, misconduct or harm has been proven.

Six Separate Incidents Claimed W**d Causing Self Amputation of Male Ge***al

Six published cases from 2008 to 2025 described male ge***al self-amputation during severe psychosis after reported use of the plant.

However, the reports could not prove the plant alone caused the injuries.

Several cases also involved alcohol, other substances, schizophrenia, incomplete toxicology, or uncertain psychiatric histories.

Stigma, confirmation bias, and sensational headlines may have encouraged overly confident causal labels despite limited evidence.
