Behind the celebrations, Songkran is about respect, gratitude, and the quiet gesture of pouring water into the hands of our elders.
A moment that reminds us who we care for.

As the holidays begin, we also know how intense this period can be across Thailand.
Take care on the roads, look after one another, and hold on to what truly matters.

Over 2.7 million people in Southern Thailand are affected by the worst flooding in 25 years, across nine provinces including Hat Yai. Heavy rains, limited drainage, and geographic vulnerabilities have made the situation extremely challenging, and local rescuers are struggling with shortages of boats and equipment to reach everyone in need.

It’s natural to feel powerless from afar, but even small actions can make a real difference for families and communities struggling right now. Here’s how you can help.

Donate essential items :
- Rice & drinking water
- Canned/instant food, instant meals
- Diapers & women’s sanitary pads
- Medicines & basic medical supplies
- Cleaning supplies, water pumps / high-pressure washers
- Pet food, clothes
- Power banks & flashlights

Donation & drop-off info :

Bangkok Community Help Foundation
Bangkok Bank : 105‑5‑06287‑9 (transfer note : “Southern Floods”)

International donations: bangkokcommunityhelp.org/donation

Drop-off locations : B*H Foundation House, Sukhumvit Soi 10 (07:00–19:00) or any Sunrise Taco’s.

Even a few cans, bottles of water, or a small donation can go a long way when we act together.

Benjamin Danielou was just 21 when a scooter accident in Thailand in 2005 put him in a long-term coma.
Today, after 20 years, he passed away in France at the age of 41, according to public reports.

Benjamin was a young man with dreams, plans, and a life ahead of him. His story is heartbreaking and a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change on the road.

Scooter accidents are one of the most common causes of serious injuries and deaths in Thailand. Every year, families face situations like Benjamin’s. Sudden, unexpected, and life-changing.

If you live in or visit Thailand :
1. Always wear a helmet
2. Don’t drink and drive
3. Avoid speeding
4. Stay alert and drive carefully
5. Never travel without proper travel insurance

Benjamin’s story is a reminder of the very sad and real consequences of road accidents.

On November 12, we were honoured to attend the Consular Partnerships Evening hosted by the Australian Embassy in Thailand.

The event brought together the people and organisations who support Australian citizens in moments that can be very difficult for families.

Each year, we have the privilege of assisting many Australian families. Nearly one in ten of the families we support comes from the Australian community in Thailand.

We are truly grateful for the trust the Embassy places in us and for the collaboration we’ve built over the years.

We look forward to continuing this partnership and to supporting families with the same compassion and care 🙏

10 years on, Paris remembers 🇫🇷

Today is a big and deeply emotional day for France.

It’s been 10 years since the tragic attacks of November 13, 2015, when Paris was struck at the Bataclan, the terraces, and the stade de France.

That night, 132 lives were lost. Hundreds were injured, and countless others have carried invisible scars ever since.

We remember the victims, the families who lost loved ones, and the survivors who live every day with the memories of that horror.

Even a decade later, the sadness and disbelief remain, but so does our strength and unity.
We remember the courage, the compassion, and the incredible solidarity that followed those dark hours.

At AMAR International, we pause today to honor their memory and to stand with everyone affected by that night. Let’s never forget how fragile peace can be and how important it is to keep choosing empathy over hate, and love over fear.

Nous n'oublierons jamais.

Last Sunday, Dana and Jeff represented AMAR International at the British Club in Bangkok for Remembrance Day.

It’s always a powerful moment to stop, stand still, and think about the lives lost during the world wars.

But as we remember them, it’s hard not to think of the people still caught in conflict today. Families displaced, lives interrupted, and the same kind of pain repeating itself, a century later.

At AMAR, remembrance isn’t just about looking back. It’s about reminding ourselves why empathy, care, and dignity still matter, every day, everywhere. 🕊️

We were heartbroken to hear about the terrible events on the train from Peterborough to London King's Cross this weekend. Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the incredible rail staff and passengers who showed such bravery in the face of fear.

Moments like this remind us how fragile life can be and how much kindness, courage, and humanity matter.

From all of us at AMAR International Asia, we send our deepest sympathy and support to everyone touched by this senseless act of violence.

Today, many people around the world take a moment to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

In some places like Mexico, this day is known as the Day of the Dead, a beautiful tradition that reminds us that remembrance doesn’t have to be sad. It can be a celebration of the lives that touched ours.

We might not observe the day in the same way, but the feeling is one we all understand. Missing those we’ve lost, and holding on to the love and memories they’ve left behind.

At AMAR International, we see every farewell as both a goodbye and a thank you.
We see it in a way to honor a life and to celebrate all the moments that made it special.

So today, let’s remember those we’ve lost but never really leave our hearts.

With love, remembrance, and peace 🕊

For many, Halloween brings smiles. For others, it brings a quiet ache.

If you’re grieving tonight, here’s a few gentle ideas :
• Light a candle and say their name
• Share a favorite photo or story
• Step outside for a few slow breaths
• Ask a friend to check in

Our team is thinking of you and your families with care. 🙏
