MAE SOT, TAK — On July 2, 2569 (2026), Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, M.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs and Services at Mahidol University, along with the Executive team from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital led by Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D.; Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Chaiporn Yuksen, M.D., Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine; Asst. Prof. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D.; Head of the Department of Community Medicine; Dr. Phusit Prakongsai, M.D.; Asst. Prof. Welawat Tienpratarn, M.D.; and Dr. Chetsadakon Jenpanitpong; attended the official opening of the new Emergency Care Unit (ECU) building at Mae Tao Clinic in Mae Sot District. The ceremony, held at Seminar Hall 1, brought together distinguished medical executives, local health officials, and international partners to celebrate this major advancement in border medicine and the successful completion of specialized healthcare training programs in collaboration with Mae Sot General Hospital.
The morning session commenced with the warm welcome address by Em. Prof. Dr. Surichai Wun'gaeo, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Mae Tao Clinic, followed by a comprehensive report on the clinic’s progress and background by Director Dr. Cynthia Maung. A key focus of the event was the celebration of medical education collaboration. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiporn Yuksen, M.D., Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine, presented the training results for the Emergency Medical Course tailored for border medics. Simultaneously, a report on the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) training program was presented by the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital.
To honor the trainees, certificates of attendance were presented by key academic leaders:
Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, awarded certificates to the trainees of the Basic Emergency Care (BEC) Module and delivered an encouraging speech.
Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, M.D., Vice President for Academic and Academic Services at Mahidol University, presented certificates to the IPC training graduates and expressed his congratulations on the project's success.
Congratulatory remarks were also shared by Dr. Nakarin Somabut, Chief of Tak Provincial Public Health Office.
The highlight of the day took place at the auspicious time of 11:09 AM, when all the leadership delegation including Dr. Nakarin Somabut; Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, M.D.; Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D; Assoc. Dr. Surichai Wun'gaeo; Dr. Cynthia Maung; along with the representative from Suwannamit Foundation, CPI, and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH), gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees were guided through a tour of the newly constructed ECU building to observe its emergency response operations firsthand.
In the afternoon, the event transitioned into an academic and policy meeting under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Vijj Kasemsup, M.D, the Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Ms. Emily Frances Taylor an exchange student from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, presented her research findings regarding the profound impacts of budget cuts on the physical and mental well-being of migrants.
In conclusion, these collaborative pilot projects—jointly supported by Mahidol University and the Mahidol University Foundation under the Royal Patronage—serve as a vital framework for empowering frontline healthcare workers and establishing standardized emergency care systems. By seamlessly bridging academic medical expertise with local border realities, this initiative ensures the delivery of rapid, safe, and high-quality medical attention. Ultimately, it stands as a powerful reflection of the University’s core mission and commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), driving tangible, real-world impact where it matters most.
อ.แม่สอด จ.ตาก — เมื่อวันที่ 2 กรกฎาคม 2569 ศ. นพ.วรพงษ์ มนัสเกียรติ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและบริการวิชาการ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารจากคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี นำโดย ศ.คลินิก นพ.อาทิตย์ อังกานนท์ คณบดี, ผศ. นพ.สุชิน วรวิชชวงษ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์, รศ. นพ.ไชยพร ยุกเซ็น หัวหน้าภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉิน, ผศ. นพ.วิชช์ เกษมทรัพย์ หัวหน้าภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ชุมชน, อ. ดร. นพ.ภูษิต ประคองสาย , ผศ.นพ.วีระวัฒน์ เธียรประธาน และ ดร.ฉพ.เจษฎากร เจนพาณิชพงศ์ ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดอาคารหน่วยฉุกเฉิน (Emergency Care Unit: ECU) อย่างเป็นทางการ ณ แม่ตาวคลินิก อำเภอแม่สอด จังหวัดตาก โดยพิธีดังกล่าวจัดขึ้น ณ ห้องประชุม Seminar Hall 1 โดยมีคณะผู้บริหารทางการแพทย์ บุคลากรสาธารณสุขในพื้นที่ และภาคีเครือข่ายระดับนานาชาติเข้าร่วมเป็นสักขีพยานในความสำเร็จและความร่วมมือของโครงการฝึกอบรมเฉพาะทางด้านเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉินและการป้องกันและควบคุมการติดเชื้อในสถานพยาบาล ภายใต้ความร่วมมือกับโรงพยาบาลแม่สอด
กิจกรรมในช่วงเช้าเริ่มต้นด้วยการกล่าวต้อนรับจาก ศ. กิตติคุณ ดร.สุริชัย หวันแก้ว ประธานกรรมการบริหารแม่ตาวคลินิก จากนั้นเป็นการรายงานความเป็นมาและความก้าวหน้าในการดำเนินงานของคลินิกโดย พญ. ซินเธีย หม่อง ผู้อำนวยการแม่ตาวคลินิก ในโอกาสนี้ รศ. นพ.ไชยพร ยุกเซ็น หัวหน้าภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉิน คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี ได้นำเสนอผลการจัดการอบรมหลักสูตรฉุกเฉินการแพทย์สำหรับหน่วยแพทย์ชายแดน ผู้แทนจากคณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล ได้นำเสนอรายงานผลการจัดอบรมหลักสูตรการป้องกันและควบคุมการติดเชื้อในสถานพยาบาล (IPC) ในการนี้ ได้มีพิธีมอบใบประกาศนียบัตรโดยผู้บริหารระดับสูงจากสถาบันการศึกษา โดย ศ.คลินิก นพ.อาทิตย์ อังกานนท์ คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มอบประกาศนียบัตรแก่ผู้ผ่านการอบรมหลักสูตร Basic Emergency Care (BEC) Module และศ. นพ.วรพงษ์ มนัสเกียรติ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและบริการวิชาการ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล มอบประกาศนียบัตรแก่ผู้ผ่านการอบรมหลักสูตร IPC โดยมีนายแพทย์นครินทร์ โสมาบุตร นายแพทย์สาธารณสุขจังหวัดตาก ร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี อีกทั้ง คณะผู้บริหารและผู้แทนทั้งหมดนำโดยนายแพทย์นครินทร์ โสมาบุตร, ศ. นพ.วรพงษ์ มนัสเกียรติ, ศ.คลินิก นพ.อาทิตย์ อังกานนท์, รศ.ดร.สุริชัย หวันแก้ว และ พญ.ซินเธีย หม่อง พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนจากมูลนิธิสุวรรณนิมิต องค์กร CPI และองค์กร Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH) ได้ร่วมกันตัดริบบิ้นในพิธีเปิดอาคารอย่างเป็นทางการ จากนั้น ผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมอาคาร ECU ที่ก่อสร้างขึ้นใหม่ เพื่อรับชมการดำเนินงานของระบบบริการฉุกเฉินอย่างใกล้ชิด
ในช่วงบ่าย Ms. Emily Frances Taylor นักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนจาก Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health มหาวิทยาลัยฮาร์วาร์ด สหรัฐอเมริกา ได้นำเสนอผลการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบอันรุนแรงของการตัดงบประมาณที่มีต่อสุขภาพกายและสุขภาพจิตของผู้อพยพ ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้การกำกับของ ผศ. นพ.วิชช์ เกษมทรัพย์ หัวหน้าภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ชุมชน
โครงการนำร่องเหล่านี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลและมูลนิธิมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ฯ ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ชายแดนและการจัดตั้งระบบการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยฉุกเฉินที่เป็นมาตรฐาน ซึ่งจะช่วยรับประกันการให้บริการทางการแพทย์ที่รวดเร็ว ปลอดภัย และมีคุณภาพ ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับพันธกิจหลักและยุทธศาสตร์ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ตลอดจนสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) เพื่อสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงและผลลัพธ์ที่จับต้อง (real-world impact) ได้ในพื้นที่ที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือ
