The Children's Sight Project will supply spectacles and provide comprehensive Optometric Eye Exams to the Children in the Chiang Mai Province in Northern Thailand. The Children’s Health Education Project has been added to our clinics, so as to deliver health advice to the students.

21st July 2026

Neil, Kent, and Peter conducted an examination of 9 grade 8 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom School at Chaloem Prakiat School during the morning session.
The students from Chaloem Prakiat were occupied with
exams, so our afternoon was free .

Day 19

15th July 2026

Today, we conducted an examination of students from Chaloem Prakiat (grade 9 and 10) & Baan Paen Pittayakhom.. (grade 8 and 9)

Also delivered 1 new pairs of spectacles to the student at Chaloem Prakiat.

We arrived a little early at the school, just in time to witness the teaching of agriculture!

Day 18

14th July 2026

Neil, Kent, and Peter conducted an examination of 10 grade 7 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom School at Chaloem Prakiat School during the morning session. This was the final group of students from grade 7.

In the afternoon, 9 students from Chaloem Prakiat , grade 9-11 were examined.

8th July 2026

Today, we conducted an examination of students from Chaloem Prakiat & Baan Paen Pittayakhom.

Also delivered 4 new pairs of spectacles to the students at Baan Paen Pittayakhom in the afternoon

A total of 17 students were examined, and 3 pairs of spectacles were required to restore their clear vision.

Data review… on the first 320 students……….

6.6% myopia,
6.9% hyperopia and
5.0% reading prescription required.
With the assistants contributing a total of 528 hours!.
A total of 59 pairs of new spectacles have been prescribed (147,500 baht of value)

Day 16

7th July 2026

Neil, Kent, and Peter conducted an examination of grade 7 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom School at Chaloem Prakiat School during the morning session.

In the afternoon, a few students from Chaloem Prakiat were examined. 9 pairs of new spectacles were also delivered.

We will return tomorrow to continue the examination.

We examined students from Chaloem Prakiat today from grades 8-10. A total of 22 were examined and 8 pairs of spectacles were required to restore clear vision

30th June 2026

Neil, Kent, and Peter conducted an examination of grade 7 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom School at Chaloem Prakiat School at the morning session.

The afternoon was dedicated to delivering finished spectacles to 14 students from Chaloem Prakiat School.

50 pairs of new spectacles have been prescribed so far…….

We return tomorrow to continue ……

Day 13

24th June 2026

The team comprising Peter, Carmine, and Chris conducted examinations on grade 9 students from Chaloem Prakiat in the afternoon and we began examination of the new grade 7 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom in the morning session.

This allowed us time to make a video report on 2 special vision students, both have unique near vision dysfunction discovered last year. This will be available soon.

We also delivered 7 pairs of new spectacles to the students of Chaloem Prakiat.

Today a total of 19 students were examined with 3 requiring spectacle correction.

The average spectacle correction rate is now 17.6%, with

5.5% being myopic,
6.7% longsightednesses and
5.5% requiring special reading correction.

(based on the first 255 students examined from grades 7-9).

Day 12

June 23rd June 2026

Neil, Kent, Chris and Peter conducted an examination of grade 7 students from Baan Paen Pittayakhom School at Chaloem Prakiat School.

All of these students are new and most have never had a vision examination. We have 58 students in this grade to examine over the next few weeks’.

Today, we were able to examine 17 students, of whom 2 required new or updated spectacles to attain clear vision in the classroom.
