Cee-It is a next-generation parenting app that helps parents see beneath behaviour. Created by trauma specialist and family therapist Donna Rego, Cee-It gives parents instant emotional insight into what’s really driving a child’s behaviour and the exact words to respond with safety, connection, and understanding. It’s not about control or correction. It’s about clarity, regulation, and reconnection in the moments that matter most.

Sometimes knowing what to do isn't enough.
We can teach parents strategies. We can teach them skills. But some of what a child needs from us is something we never received ourselves.

That question changed the way I thought about parenting, and it's why I built CEE-IT.

When they act up for attention, here are five things you can say in the moment.

"You need me right now. It's hard when I'm busy."
"You wish I could be with you all day."
"You want to know I still see you."
"It feels lonely when I'm not looking."
"I'm here. You don't have to shout to be seen."

Being seen matters more than being corrected. Your calm acknowledgement helps their nervous system settle.

Save this one for the hard moments.

You pick up the phone, and suddenly they need you right now. What are they really telling you?

When your child feels invisible, left out or uncertain of your availability, their nervous system sends an alarm: "Notice me. I need to know I still matter."

The behaviour that follows isn't manipulation. It's survival.

And what they can't tell you, they will make you feel. Irritation, guilt, exhaustion. This mirroring isn't wrong. It's an invitation to slow down and remember: their behaviour isn't the problem, it's a signal.

Connection doesn't spoil. It stabilises.

It's hard when their constant calls for attention wear you thin. You may feel touched out, overstimulated or resentful. That's human.

But each time you pause, breathe and reconnect before reacting, you show them that safety doesn't disappear when you're distracted.

Follow your heart with the intention of meeting their unmet need. You know your child better than anyone. Trust your intuition. Connection is the key.

Episode 7 is up: When they act up for attention.

Interrupting, acting silly, being loud, pretending to be hurt, suddenly "forgetting" routines the moment your attention is somewhere else.

It can feel relentless, and it is easy to read it as them being difficult or demanding.

But attention-seeking is really connection-seeking, a child checking that they are still seen. A child's body is wired to stay close to safety, and you are their safety.

What they're asking is: "Am I still seen when you're busy?"

You might say:
"You need me right now. It's hard when I'm busy."
"You want to know I still see you."
"I'm here. You don't have to shout to be seen."

Connection given freely is quieter than connection chased.

Looks vs. works. 👀

When we say CEE-IT is an Australian Good Design Award winner, here's what that means: our app won in Digital Design (Apps and Software). The awards have recognised design excellence since 1958, and every entry is assessed by an independent expert jury against three criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.

For us, that's the point. Good design isn't only how something looks, it's how thoughtfully it's built around the people using it. Parents and caregivers in hard moments. Therapists and teachers who want to work from the same picture of the child.

✔️ Real-time guidance for the moment you're in
✔️ Emotionally responsive language
✔️ Practical strategies you can use tonight
✔️ One shared picture of the child for parents, therapists and teachers

Swipe through to see how it works, then explore CEE-IT free on the App Store or Google Play (link in bio).

Educational support, not therapy, counselling or medical advice.
