Tooth fragment reattachment following dental trauma is a conservative treatment approach that preserves the natural shape, color, and translucency of the fractured tooth.
The success of this procedure mainly depends on two key factors:
✔️ Proper storage of the fractured fragment
✔️ Prompt dental intervention
Following trauma, the fragment should ideally be stored in saline solution, milk, or, if unavailable, in saliva to prevent dehydration.
⏱️ The sooner the patient seeks dental care, the greater the chances of achieving an optimal esthetic and functional outcome.
✨ The final result can only be accurately assessed after the fragment has rehydrated, usually at least 48 hours after reattachment.
