Sleep disorders in babies are more common in babies under one year. Babies wake up more often than adults, and move more than adults in their sleep. A baby’s sleep cycle is normally 50 to 60 minutes. They can wake up four to six times at night when they pass from stage to another at the end of their sleep cycles. When they are three months old they may fall asleep from half awake state on their own, and they start forming regular sleep habits. However, sometimes, parents see their babies’ more fragile and vulnerable than they really are, and check them every time they wake up and thus, create sleep problems. Babies easily get used to cuddling, swinging, and breast feeding given to them at the end of each sleep cycle thus; fail to learn sleep on their own.

Adenoiditis is an insidious disease. Recurrent upper respiratory tract infections can lead to enlarged adenoids in children.
