Not every nose should be operated on.

One of the most important parts of my job is knowing when not to recommend surgery.

Rhinoplasty may not be the right choice if:

• You’re looking for perfection rather than improvement.

• You’re hoping surgery will solve deeper personal or emotional concerns.

• You’re making the decision to meet someone else’s expectations instead of your own.

• Your goals don’t match what can be achieved safely while preserving both function and facial harmony.

The best rhinoplasty isn’t about creating a completely different nose. It’s about achieving a result that respects your unique anatomy, maintains proper nasal function, and naturally complements your face.

Sometimes, the most responsible recommendation a surgeon can make is not to operate.

Thick skin is not a contraindication for rhinoplasty. But it does require a different approach.

Skin thickness is one of the key factors in rhinoplasty planning.

With thick skin, swelling tends to last longer, and the final definition of the nose develops more gradually. In addition, thick skin does not reveal subtle changes in the underlying cartilage as quickly.

That is why successful rhinoplasty is not just about reshaping the nose—it is about creating a strong structural framework that supports a natural, harmonious result.

With the right surgical approach and patience during recovery, excellent outcomes can be achieved.
