Honored to be actively contributing to the 2nd International Bariatric Club Türkiye Summit.

This year, I had the privilege of taking on multiple roles throughout the congress — as Chair, Moderator, Panelist, and Speaker — engaging with outstanding colleagues on some of the most challenging and evolving aspects of bariatric and metabolic surgery.

From discussing complex complications and surgical strategies to exploring the future of our field with my talk on:
“How Can AI Technology Be Used to Make a Technically Perfect Sleeve Gastrectomy?”

…it was truly inspiring to exchange ideas with leading experts and push the boundaries of what we can achieve for our patients.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in making this outstanding organization possible — especially Prof. Haris Khwaja, who played a key role in bringing this summit to life, and Prof. Dr. Burak Kavlakoğlu, the summit president, for his leadership — as well as all contributors whose efforts made this event a great success.

Grateful to be part of such a dynamic scientific environment, and looking forward to contributing even more to the global advancement of bariatric surgery.

In 2019, I had the opportunity to join the EAES Fellowship at Bucharest —an experience that significantly contributed to my surgical development and broadened my professional vision.

Years later, being part of the author collaboration in the study evaluating this program is truly rewarding.

My sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Cătălin Copăescu —one of the most talented and wise surgeons I have had the privilege to know—along with Dr. Bogdan Smeu and the EAES Association for this valuable opportunity.

I am truly delighted to have participated for the second time in the IBC – University of Oxford World Congress.
It has once again been a privilege to contribute to such a unique scientific atmosphere, where global leaders in bariatric surgery gather to share insights and innovation.
This year, I had the opportunity to:

My heartfelt thanks go to Prof. Haris Khwaja for his visionary leadership, to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and to the entire IBC Club family for creating yet another enriching congress.
Being part of this journey is both inspiring and motivating for me, and I am grateful for the chance to grow, share, and learn alongside such esteemed colleagues.
Additionally, my heartfelt regards to my dear brother Dr. Tuna Bilecik , and who has been both a big brother and a true friend to me throughout the congress, and for whose health and presence I always pray.

This week, as the NewMe Budapest family, we visited our patients whom we recently operated on in their homes.
They welcomed us warmly with their smiles and genuine hospitality.

We talked about their post-operative recovery period and answered their questions. While sharing the changes in their lives, some had tears in their eyes, and others smiled with hope… These heartfelt moments reminded us once again why we love what we do.

We sincerely thank our former patients – now our new Hungarian friends – for giving us these precious feelings.

Let’s remember: drink more water, make regular exercise a standard part of life, and change our eating habits towards healthier choices. And, don’t have too much pálinka :)

I had the honor of participating as a speaker, session chair, and panelist at the Turkish Obesity Surgery and Dietetics Congress (TOSS & MBCDD) 2024. Additionally, I performed a live Allurion balloon procedure during the event.

My heartfelt thanks to the congress presidents, Assoc. Prof. Eren Taşkın .erentaskin and Assoc. Prof. Tuna Bilecik , as well as the scientific secretary, Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Şişik , for their outstanding dedication and efforts in organizing this exceptional event.

It was a flawless organization and a truly remarkable gathering!

I participated as a speaker and proctor in the "Become a Bariatric Surgeon: Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Training for Beginners" event, held on October 13-14, 2024, at the the Medtronic Innovation Center. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Turkish Obesity Surgery Society and its esteemed president, Prof. Mustafa Taşkın, for their kind invitation. I also want to express my gratitude to .erentaskin for the excellent organization and hard work and to Medtronic for their valuable contributions.

I had the honor of presenting on the topic “A Novel Metabolic Bypass Procedure after Sleeve Gastrectomy – Is There a Method to This Madness?” and participating as a panelist in the Experts Discussion Session: The Future of FundoRing-OAGB: Here to Stay or Will It Eventually Go Away? at the 5th IBC - University of Oxford World Congress, held from September 17-19, 2024.
A huge thank you to Prof. Haris Khwaja for the incredible organization and for giving me this invaluable opportunity. It was an enriching experience where I had the chance to exchange insights with some of the most prominent names in the world of bariatric surgery.
After the congress, I took the opportunity to explore London and reconnect with my old friend from high school, Erhan, while observing life in this vibrant city.
