Why do I prefer the closed technique in revision rhinoplasty?

Revizyon rinoplasti yalnızca burnu yeniden şekillendirmek değildir; önceki cerrahilerden kalan dokuları koruyarak, kontrollü ve hassas bir şekilde yeniden yapılandırmaktır.

Uygun revizyon vakalarında kapalı tekniği tercih etmemin temel nedenleri:
• Dışarıdan görünen kesi izi olmaması
• Doku dolaşımının mümkün olduğunca korunması
• Daha sınırlı diseksiyon ve daha az doku travması
• Mevcut anatomik yapıların korunabilmesi
• Hassas ve kontrollü düzeltmelere olanak sağlaması
• Daha az ödem ve daha hızlı iyileşme potansiyeli

Benim temel prensibim: Mümkün olduğunca koru, gerektiği kadar düzelt.

Revision rhinoplasty is not simply about reshaping the nose. It is about preserving the remaining tissues while rebuilding and correcting the nose with precision.

In selected revision cases, I prefer the closed approach because it may provide:
• No visible external incision
• Better preservation of vascularity
• Less dissection and tissue trauma
• Preservation of existing anatomical structures
• Precise and controlled corrections
• Potentially less swelling and faster recovery

My guiding principle: Preserve as much as possible, correct only as much as necessary.

Every revision case is unique, and the surgical approach should be individually planned according to the patient’s anatomy and previous procedures.
