Providers rarely admit a holiday is the reason.
Instead they use medical-sounding excuses like “baby is big,” “fluid is low,” or “your placenta is aging.”
Convenience inductions get disguised as safety interventions, and parents are left thinking something was wrong when the timing was never about them at all.
Why they don’t say the truth 😒
Because saying:
“I don’t want to miss Thanksgiving”
or
“The hospital is short-staffed on Christmas Day”
…would expose the reality:
that the timing is based on provider convenience, not medical need.
So they cloak it in “concern,” “safety,” or “being proactive.”
