👃 Can Your Nose Change Again After Rhinoplasty?

If your nose is not exposed to any trauma, a change in its shape is generally not expected after rhinoplasty. One of the key factors is the surgical technique. When the nasal structure is built with strong and stable support, the answer to the frequently asked question, “Will the nasal tip droop?”, is generally no.

However, the aging process and wound healing may cause subtle changes in the shape of the nose over time. Wound healing is an important factor that progresses beyond the surgeon’s control and can influence the final outcome.

For this reason, although uncommon, small unwanted changes related to the healing process may occur, and approximately 2–3% of patients may require a revision procedure.

👃 Open Rhinoplasty or Closed Rhinoplasty: Which Is Better?

In fact, there is no single correct answer to this question. The main difference between open and closed rhinoplasty is a small incision of approximately 5 mm beneath the nose. Other than that, the surgical planning and the procedures performed are largely the same.

What really matters is which technique your surgeon is more experienced and comfortable with, and which approach is better suited to your individual nasal anatomy.

Rather than insisting on either an open or a closed technique, it is more appropriate to trust your surgeon to determine the most suitable approach for your specific case.

✨ What Procedures Can Be Done for Jowl Sagging?

The underlying cause of jowl sagging varies from person to person. Therefore, the most appropriate treatment is determined based on the patient’s age and the underlying cause of the concern.

👨‍⚕️ In suitable patients who are planning to undergo rhinoplasty and are also bothered by the appearance of their jowl area, we may combine submental liposuction (chin liposuction) with subdermal laser skin tightening to achieve a more balanced facial profile.

🔹 In younger patients, the primary issue is often excess fat beneath the chin. In these cases, submental liposuction can remove the excess fat, while subdermal laser treatment helps support skin tightening.

🔹 In older patients, skin laxity and excess skin are usually the main concerns. In such cases, the treatment plan is evaluated differently, and a neck lift procedure may be recommended when appropriate. For this age group, neck lift surgery often provides more effective and predictable results.

❌ Hayır. Çünkü herkese aynı burun yapmak doğru bir yaklaşım değildir.

Her bireyin cilt yapısı, kemik yapısı, kıkırdak yapısı ve yüz şekli birbirinden farklıdır. Bu nedenle bir kişiye çok yakışan bir burun, başka bir kişinin yüzünde aynı uyumu sağlamayabilir.✨

Rinoplastide önemli olan, yüzle uyumlu bir burun planlamaktır. Örneğin sivri bir burun, daha yuvarlak yüz hatlarına sahip bir kişide doğal görünmeyebilir.

✨ Who is a good candidate for eyelid surgery?
As we age, the skin around the eyelids gradually loses its elasticity, leading to sagging of the upper eyelids and more prominent under-eye bags. These changes can create a tired, older appearance and, in some cases, may even affect the visual field. If you are experiencing these concerns, eyelid surgery may be an appropriate option.

✨ Will eyelid surgery leave a scar?
Incisions are carefully placed within the natural crease of the eyelid and closed using fine aesthetic sutures. Once healing is complete, scars are typically minimal and barely noticeable.

✨ How long is the recovery?
Eyelid surgery can be performed as a standalone procedure or combined with rhinoplasty in suitable candidates. Most patients are able to return to their daily routines and desk-based work within approximately one week.

📌 Is rhinoplasty very painful after surgery?

Everyone has a different pain threshold. While some of our patients experience little to no discomfort, others manage the recovery period comfortably with simple pain medication. The good news is that severe, unbearable pain is not something we typically expect after rhinoplasty.

During the first week, a protective nasal cast remains in place. Taking time to rest during this period helps support the healing process. At the end of the first week, the cast is removed, and if needed, paper tape is applied. Patients with desk jobs or work that does not require physical exertion can usually return to their daily routine, following their surgeon’s recommendations. For physically demanding jobs, the return-to-work timeline is planned individually.

Every patient’s nasal anatomy and healing process are unique. For this reason, the most appropriate treatment plan is always created after a detailed consultation and tailored to each individual. 👃

📌 What is the ideal age for rhinoplasty?

When it comes to rhinoplasty, the most important factor is not age itself, but whether facial and bone development has been completed.

In general:
👧 Around 16 years old for girls
👦 Around 17 years old for boys

However, every individual develops at a different pace.

So, how can you tell if bone development is complete?

✔️ Height growth has largely stopped
✔️ Clothes from the previous year still fit (indicating the rapid growth phase has ended)
✔️ In boys, secondary sexual characteristics—such as beard growth—have developed

These signs may indicate that bone development is largely complete, but the most accurate assessment can only be made through a comprehensive consultation with a qualified surgeon.

When planning rhinoplasty, not only age but also facial development, overall health, and the patient’s expectations should be carefully evaluated.
