After two previous surgeries, a severe infection had left the nose with structural collapse, scar contracture, a shortened columella and a saddle nose deformity

Using the patient’s own rib cartilage, we rebuilt the missing support, restored dorsal height and projection, lengthened the columella and reconstructed the nasal framework from its foundations

Swelling and redness are expected and this is not the final result

Can I guarantee a perfect rhinoplasty result for my own wife?

The honest answer is no

No surgeon can fully control how every nose will heal

Tuğba has undergone seven nasal surgeries in total
I performed two of them, including a revision after my own previous operation

Three months after her latest revision, I noticed a small bump on the bridge
It was most likely localized swelling, early healing tissue, or callus formation
It became less visible with carefully directed massage

Not every bump is permanent
Not every concern means another surgery

Good care means honest expectations, close follow-up, and knowing when to act and when to wait

6 months after thick skin rhinoplasty

Thick skin changes both the surgical strategy and the healing timeline

My aim was not simply to make her nose smaller, but to create a refined and well-supported framework beneath a thick skin envelope

I softened the dorsal hump, refined the broad nasal tip, and balanced its projection and rotation while preserving her identity

At six months, this is not the final result — definition will continue to improve as the remaining swelling gradually settles 🤍

A septal perforation is more than just a hole in the nasal septum

It may cause whistling, dryness, crusting, recurrent nosebleeds and difficulty breathing

In my practice, I frequently combine septal perforation repair with rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty, allowing functional, structural and aesthetic concerns to be addressed in the same surgery

Four months after repair, the perforation remains closed, with easier breathing, no whistling and significantly reduced dryness and crusting 👃🏼

Each case requires an individual approach based on the size, location and cause of the perforation
